We know that some young people may be feeling uncertain about their sixth-form choices, and we want you to know that Hartsdown Academy is here to support you.

At Hartsdown Academy, we offer the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) - a unique sixth-form pathway that combines a vocational qualification with two IB Diploma subjects and the IBCP Core.

Our IBCP pathway includes:

1 vocational course, equivalent to at least two A Levels, with a choice of:
- Health and Social Care
- Medical and Applied Science
- Sport
- Criminology & Psychology

2 IB Diploma subjects, each equivalent to at least 0.5 of an A Level, with some subjects equivalent to a full A Level, with a choice of:
- English Language and Literature
- Mathematics
- Psychology
- Film
- Spanish
- History
- Global Politics
- Business Management

Plus the IBCP Core, which supports students to develop the personal, academic and professional skills they need for their future.

We also offer a pathway of qualifications for students who need to resit English and/or Maths, ensuring that there is a suitable route forward for everyone.

Our Sixth Form enrolment team will be in the Main Reception at Hartsdown Academy from 11:00am–1:00pm on GCSE Results Day.

If you're planning to join our Sixth Form, please bring a copy of your GCSE results. If you've met the entry requirements, we'll provide you with an enrolment pack and registration form to complete so we can get you set up on our system.

Big Dreams Day☁️

Students recently enjoyed meeting over 30 employers, education and training providers at our annual careers exhibition. Forming part of our whole school 'Big Dreams Day' event our young people were able to engage in conversations about career journeys, progression routes and explore just some of the many options available to them in the future. Workshops also ran alongside the exhibition with a focus on sectors including construction, creative arts and finance. Students also engaged in a variety of online learning opportunities helping them to further explore their own dreams and ambitions, both now and what these might look like in the future. It was a hugely successful day with our visiting exhibitors commenting on how engaging and curious the young people were. We are very grateful for their support in making this day the success.
