We are looking for a bassist for NO TV !

Knowledge of contemporary and older post punk, dance punk, new wave and art rock bands preferred.

Bass guitar + bass synth would be a bonus.

We have plenty of cool gigs and opportunities lined up.

Debut EP recorded and singles will be out from autumn.

Need someone who can bring the energy/ performance on stage and on camera for music videos as the whole band is high energy.

Writing: opportunity to develop your parts on the songs/ help with arranging.

Rehearsals : approx once every two weeks at good rehearsal rooms Manston

Gigs: mainly in Kent and Brighton but we are looking for opportunities to play further so we need someone ok with that when the opportunity arises.

Thanks for reading!

Reply to me or our band Instagram to get in touch :)

Ps when I posted this originally on Facebook it flagged it as AI - even though I made it all in canva using the "etching" effect.

Apologies about that,

I guess that effect is possibly an AI effect in canva, but NO TV does not support fully AI generated art , so here's the new one

We are Looking for a bassist and it could be YOU

We occupy the area of the Venn diagram where dance & punk meet.

We recently
- recorded a BBC Radio Live Session,
- played for Marshall Amps on the main stage at Dreamland
- supported Art Brut, Alien Chicks, & upcoming shows with La Sécurité and Bikini Body

Ideally you would have a disco-funk style, more than rock-style playing.

Bonus if you can also play bass lines on a synth - we use a lot of synths in the band, so being able to occasionally play synth bass would help.

Gigging:

We play locally, but also travel for gigs when the opportunity arises.

We've played London & Brighton, and different parts of Kent, and are hoping to expand.

We've been described as having a lot of energy on stage, so we'd be looking for someone who is a bit of a performer, as well as being a competent musician.

Recording & videos:

We aim to release a single + video + remix every 3 months, so someone who is comfortable in the studio, and performing in front of the camera is important too.

Contemporary bands that we are influenced by:

Adult DVD, Warmduscher, Vi**ra Boys, IDLES, Gustaf, The Dare, Bikini Body, La Securité, St Vincent, Welly, The Voidz, Public Practice, Bodega

Older bands we love:

LCD soundsystem, Talking Heads, Franz Ferdinand, Blondie, New Order, The Rapture, Prince, The Human League, Duran Duran, Late of the Pier, The Gossip, The Stranglers, Blur, Pulp, the B-52's , The Rezillos

Spotify Playlist:

Rehearsals:

Usually at the Good Rehearsal Rooms in Manston, or Double Oyster in Whitstable, approx once every 2 weeks.
