We are very excited and pleased to announce we have been shortlisted for the Modeshift STARS Schools Travel Awards! 🥳👏

This is after achieving our Modeshift STARS accreditation earlier in the year. Out of all the schools across the country we are one of only 208 schools (including Infant, Primary and Secondary selected! ☺️

The Regional Awards are in October and then if successful we will represent our region at the National awards🤞🏻

On Friday the Saplings room went for an adventure walk into the Infant School grounds 🚶

They went looking for signs of autumn 🍂🍁 and along the way stopped and talked about what they could see.

They even brought a few of their findings back to preschool to use in their play and expressive arts 🎨

The children enjoyed the running track and walked and listened very well!

The children have been busy exploring our new rooms growing in confidence each day and linking up with old friends and new! 🥰

Preschool opening today Important please read. 

As you are probably all aware there has been another burst water pipe which has closed another road causing marchwood to be blocked with traffic including tankers and lorry’s using Twiggs lane as an exit .
For the safety of all of our families and children whom are driving or walking we will not be opening until 10am today.
We are hoping opening later will allow the heavy flow of traffic to disperse especially the huge lorry’s and tankers to allow safer crossings especially accross Twiggs lane .
Your families safety and my staffs safety is my top priority.

*** 🚨 Mondays Waterside Road Closures! 🚨 ***

Please do not shoot the messenger on this one (as a District Cllr I have ZERO direct say in how and when roadworks take place) but in case not already aware:

From Monday 14th September there will be a number of full and partial planned and emergency road closures in place across Marchwood and Eling. These will very likely have a direct significant impact on our New Forest waterside communities, leading to road traffic congestion, delays, and ultimately longer road journeys. So please do plan ahead accordingly!

🚧 - Hythe Road, Marchwood, closed between Garden City and Veals Lane (gas main replacement)

🚧 - Twiggs Lane, Marchwood, (Forest side of A326), closed from A326 to Arters Lawn (carriageway repairs)

🚧 - Trotts Lane, Marchwood, closed in the area of Holly Cottage (Southern Water mains burst)

🚧 - Marchwood Road, Eling (near Bury Brickfields), single lane closure with temporary traffic lights (Southern Water mains burst)

🚧 - Eling Toll Bridge, closed from both sides owing to Southern Water mains burst at junction of Lexby Road, Eling Lane, Downs Park Crescent

As previously advised, Applemore school buses and BlueStar number 8 timetabled bus services will still serve Marchwood but NOT the bus stops on Hythe Road between Twiggs Lane and Garden City. BlueStar state that a temporary bus stop will be in use in the area of Garden City.

Please do take extra care on our local roads, especially in the locality of Twiggs Lane where the village Infant school and Twiggs Lane pre school are both located.

This morning we had another lovely visit from friends in our community ☺️

The Merceode Lodge Care Home have been very kind and raised money for our charity run preschool over the summer holidays. Today they dropped off a fantastic cheque for us to use to enrich our preschool for our children 👏

Thank you all at Merceode Lodge Care Home! Twiggs staff and children are looking forward to seeing you all next week when we return to our weekly visits 🥰

A lovely delivery from Marchwood Men’s Shed this afternoon! Very soon it will be a construction shed to go in our garden so our children can access their own resources for their play and learning. Thanks again to all at Marchwood Men’s Shed ☺️

Twiggs has had a fantastic start to the new school year and have really enjoyed welcoming our children and their families this week ☺️

Due to our expansion the team have been super busy over the summer holidays creating two beautiful new rooms for our children to explore and enjoy!

Our Seedlings room is for our 1 and 2 year old children and the Saplings room is for our 3-4 year olds.

We look forward to continuing to welcome everyone else back next week.
