We are a local March group. We have set up “The Goods shed ”, a CIC with a big hope for a small, neglected piece of our railway heritage. We want to restore the historic goods shed with a Musium celebrating the marshalling yard, into a welcoming community café and outdoor educational hub, with allotments and growing areas where people can learn skills, connect with nature, and explore March’s heritage. 🌱

We’ve just launched, and seven people have already helped us get started. We have already made £50!!! A symbolic brick costs £5, and you can dedicate it to a grandchild, Mum, Dad, Grandma, or friend. Names will be displayed at the café.

If we can’t make enough to purchase the Building and land, funds will support an alternative community benefit.

How does a Pinhole Camera Work?

When light from a scene enters through a tiny hole (the “pinhole”) in the front of the camera, it forms a beam of light rays.

These light rays travel in straight lines and create an upside-down image of the scene on the back wall of the camera (the tracing paper), which acts as the film or sensor. This happens because each point in the scene sends out rays in different directions, and the pinhole lets only a small set of rays from each point through to the back wall.
