Our Reception pupils have been learning about autumn and harvest this week. Yesterday they learnt about two artists, Andy Goldsworthy who uses natural objects in his art and Yayoi Kusama, who used pumpkins in her art. It was such good fun that they have requested to continue next week!

Its that time of year again. Our first fundraiser of the new term. Our Halloweed disco!
The children can come in their Halloween outfits or their party clothes. Payment will be on Parentpay from next week and closes Wednesday 21st. NO CASH on door. As usual we will not be sending home a paper ticket. We look forward to a fun evening.

An enormous thank you for the generosity that was shown yesterday during our harvest festival. It was such a lovely celebration, with harvest songs and a special thanks to Reverend Ruth Clay from St Wendredas who was our special guest and who spoke in our harvest assembly today.
The collection was gratefully received by our local food bank. What fabulous community partnerships!

Tomorrow is our HARVEST FESTIVAL.
This year our theme is “We grow. We gather. We give.”

During the assembly we will be exploring the importance of the harvest festival, why and how we can help others, and why we are thankful for the things around us. As part of our assembly, we have a special guest from our local community coming to talk to us and the children will be performing a song they have learnt in our singing assemblies this term.

Once again we will be collecting food as part of our harvest celebrations and this will be donated to our local foodbanks at the end of the assembly.

The food bank has told us that they would particularly welcome donations of: tinned meat, custard/rice pudding, tinned vegetables, tinned soup, pasta sauces, rice, coffee, tinned fruit, milk (long-life), toiletries/toilet roll. All items must have a shelf life of three months and they are unable to accept items in dented or damaged packaging.

Thank you in advance for your kind donations.

It's the BIG SCHOOL LUNCH tomorrow!!!!

BIG SCHOOL LUNCH - FREE FOR ALL CHILDREN

On Thursday, 1st October, all the children will be having a school lunch with their class teacher and friends. If your child has not had a school lunch with us before and you are concerned about how much they will eat, you can send them in with a 'back-up' packed lunch.

The Jungle Fest lunch will offer a variety of food choices as shown on the attached poster plus the usuals; jacket potatoes, pasta or ham sandwich options. You do NOT need to prebook and you/your child can pick on the day.

A special lunch choice for children who pick from the Allergy Menu is also on the poster.

We would ask that you encourage your child to try school lunch, at no cost to you. If you have any concerns you can contact us at [email protected].

A reminder that tomorrow and Wednesday we will be holding our parents' evening appointments. Please come through the main reception office for your appointment and take a seat outside the classroom where you will find your child's tray containing their books, all ready for you to look at.
