🦋 What an exciting week we've had!

Our butterfly chrysalises have started to open, and the children were absolutely fascinated. There was lots of excitement, wonder, and curiosity as they observed this amazing stage of the life cycle first-hand.

☀️ We also celebrated the Summer Solstice and learned about some of the different ways people mark this special day, including midsummer dancing. The children created beautiful sun-inspired artwork and worked together to write a heartfelt letter to the sun.

Some of their wonderful thoughts included:

💛 "Thank you for growing our fruits."
💛 "Thank you for the heat."
💛 "We like to play when it's sunny."
💛 And our favourite question: "Sun, do you wear a hat?"

It has been a lovely week full of nature, creativity, and thoughtful conversations as we explored the wonders of the world around us. 🌞🦋

🌸✨ Blooming Marvellous Awards Party ✨🌸

What a truly special day we shared with our wonderful children, families, and staff!

To celebrate our team being named Early Years Team of the Year at the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards, we hosted a Blooming Marvellous Party filled with fun, laughter, and magical memories.

The children were delighted by an enchanting forest fairy adventure led by Dynamique Dance, who kept everyone entertained with their magical storytelling. 🧚‍♀️🌳

One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of our award, along with gifts for our amazing staff, which were proudly handed out by two of our very own little fairies. 💖

This award reflects the incredible children and families we are privileged to work with every day. Thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement, and for joining us to celebrate this wonderful achievement.

We couldn't have done it without you! 🌟

Celebrating an incredible milestone — 3 amazing years with our wonderful Manager, Barbara! 🎉🌟

Barbara’s dedication, kindness, leadership, and passion for creating a nurturing environment for our children and team make such a difference every single day. We are so grateful for everything she does and the positivity she brings to our preschool community.

What an incredible Science Week we’ve had! 🧪🔬✨

The children have absolutely loved getting hands-on with so many exciting experiments. From bubbling concoctions to surprising reactions, there were lots of “WOW!” moments and plenty of awe and wonder along the way.

One of the biggest highlights was exploring the world through the microscope. The children were fascinated looking closely at everything they could find — from leaves, bark and bugs to even examining themselves! Their curiosity and excitement made the week truly special. 🌿🐞🔍

Building the Future Guardians of Nature! 🌱👫

Picture a group of three-year-olds crouched in the mud with magnifying glasses, completely fascinated by a woodlouse. There are no worksheets or instructions, just genuine wide-eyed curiosity about the natural world.💚

That is a typical morning at Wild Days Lodge Forest Pre-school in Mapperley, Nottingham.
