5 Easy Steps to Start Visualizing Your Success Today

You may not realise it, but you are already a powerful visualizer. You probably spend a lot of time imagining your life, but chances are you’re more focused on worry and anxiety, not on making success your reality. How often do you think about that presentation or that date, and imagine the worst possible outcome? If your inner monologue tends to revolve around potential mishaps or anxious ‘what ifs?” then you need to switch up your visualizing.

Time to accentuate the positive and welcome success into your life!

1. Know what you want
Elite sports players use this technique all the time to improve their performance and achieve their goals. They visualize scoring that goal or winning their race. Imagine if a pole vaulter looked at the vault and thought, ‘oh man, that’s high, I’ll never do it.’ That’s setting themselves up for failure, right? Instead, look at your deepest desire, be clear about it, and see yourself soaring over that pole.

2. Be Clear About Your Goal
The secret sauce of visualizing success lies in the details. See yourself achieving, even surpassing your goal. Say our pole vaulter wants to clear six meters. Visualizing six meters isn’t enough. They have to imagine six and a half, maybe even seven.

Instead of a new job, visualize a promotion, visualize being CEO. See yourself winning that prize. Visualize your personal best and see yourself smashing it. Think big and ask yourself, “What would my life look like when I achieve my goal?”

3. Feel Your Success
Once you have clarity on what you want, focus your attention on what success feels like. What emotions come up for you as you imagine yourself living that life of success?

4. Start Making Success Happen
Success doesn’t come overnight or all in a bunch. You can start making your successful life today by taking the baby steps you need to build your success on. Every day before you get out of bed, think of three things you can do that day to move you closer to achieving your dreams.

5. Stick to it
Successful people are persistent people. They know that true, lasting success takes time and effort. There will be setbacks and missteps, and plenty of challenges on the way. But if you have a purpose and a clear vision, you’ll make it. Keep your eyes on the prize and don’t give up

You have the power to change your reality to manifest success and happiness. You just have to start believing in the best possible outcomes, not the worst. Rev up your visualizing engine and get started! You can do it!

5 Tips for Doing Your Best Work Every Day

No two workdays are the same, no two training sessions are the same most of the time. There are many days where merely showing up seems like that is the best you’ll do. Showing up and doing your best work is what will ultimately set you apart and make you feel like a champion.

1. Set Clear Milestones
You have a project to complete. Instead of working endlessly toward that one end goal, set mini-goals or milestones for yourself. If you can meet a milestone every or every other day, it will be easier to keep your head up and pushing forward with the same vigor as day one.

2. Prioritize and Plan
Take time at the beginning and end of every day to look at what you have done and what you need to do. Prioritizing and planning will allow you to move forward seamlessly without losing focus.

3. Conquer Difficult Tasks First
That one task you are really dreading, like calling back an annoying salesman or putting in the distance. Make this your first milestone. Do it first. Get it off your list. The rest of the day will seem like a breeze, and you won’t use other tasks as a way of procrastinating.

4. Be Aware of Limitations
Your limitations exist. Everyone has limitations. Be aware and admit these to yourself. You may also need to disclose your shortcomings to your coach or team mates. Being aware of things that are out of your league will make asking for help easier. It will also give you a list of skills you need to work on professionally.

5. Don’t Stress
The first four tips in this list can be daunting. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 may require that you restructure your work. Number three might give you heart palpations, and number four, who wants to admit to their own shortcomings? Do not let these tips stress you out. Instead, slowly work to implement the easiest of the suggestions (whichever that may be for you), and level up when you are ready.

Bringing your A-game daily will take time and hard work, two things you are no stranger to. Remember that doing your best work every day of the week will pay off in the long run, even if it seems complicated and scary in the beginning.

Using the Pareto Principle to Achieve Faster

Our modern world recognizes being busy as being important. It seems the more running around you do, the more urgent tasks you have, the more respected you are. Think about it - have you ever talked about how busy you are when someone asked you how you were? Probably. We all do it.

But being busy doesn’t mean we are being effective at making the changes we want in our lives. In fact, it may mean the opposite - that we are wasting time on tasks that really aren’t that important. That leaves us drained of energy and wondering what it’s all for.

The Pareto Principle, maybe better known as the 80/20 principle, is a way to use your time effectively so you get more done and are working on the right activities. In a nutshell, the principle says that approximately 20% of your effort yields 80% of your results. Likewise, the reverse is also true. There are tasks that take 80% effort, yet only yield 20% of your results. The goal, obviously, is to determine which tasks are which.

The easiest and fastest way to achieve your outcomes and reach your potential is to streamline your action items. Some tasks that don’t make the cut (don’t yield 80%) can be ignored as unimportant, while others may still need doing, but not necessarily by you. Those 20% yield tasks that still need to be completed can be outsourced so you are free to complete the creative tasks you are best at.

Here’s how to see if an item is a 20% or an 80% job:

• Keep a list of outcomes handy so you can review it throughout each day.
• Write down each task that you need to complete for the day.
• Now, go through each item and compare it to your outcomes. Does it align? From past experience, how much effort did the item take? And what was the benefit? Is it worth it?
• If it is, but you don’t need to do it, hand it off to someone else.
• If it’s not, mark a line through it and move on to the next item on the list.
• Use a simple tracking system to measure the results vs. the effort on each task or technique you use. This will help you determine if something is a 20% or 80% undertaking later.

The point of this exercise is to keep firmly in your mind that not all activities yield the same benefits. And that it’s not necessary to implement every idea that you come across. Choose only those that align with your goals and will offer the most reward.

Most people won’t do this of course...the 80/20 principle in action. Which percentage will you choose to operate in?

Charisma and reputation! It’s something that is important to many.

Becoming more charismatic and building a better reputation creates confidence, and confidence can really help you progress in life.

How would you like to leave a room and people start talking about you in a way that is not only flattering but where they wished you hadn’t left? That is how to be unforgettable in a positive way. It’s not as difficult as you think, either. It does take a bit of practice and maybe even a bit of refocusing on your core beliefs. But, it’s possible, and you should get started now.

Become a Storyteller
If you had the choice between hearing statistical information on a certain subject, or a story that described that same subject in a colorful way, which would you choose?

If you are like most people, you will choose the story. People love to hear stories. We are wired that way. If you have the added skill of being able to tell stories, people will remember you for this.
Taking this idea a stage further, imagine if you made decisions based on the stories that you create. Deciding which job to take – what would make the best story. Deciding how to spend your weekend… what would make the best story?

There are people who have a natural ability to tell stories. It seems like they were born with this skill. Because of this, many people feel as though they cannot pick up this ability. It’s simply not true. It just takes some practice. Seek out books, seminars, etc., on the subject and start getting better at telling stories.

Get Interested in What Others Are Interested In
Dale Carnegie wrote the book, How to Win Friends and Influence People. He wrote this in 1936, while the Great Depression was still underway. It continues to sell many copies to this day.
In the book, one of the foundations is to become genuinely interested in other people. Ask questions related to their interests. Look for information or other items on their behalf that shows you have taken an interest in them. They will greatly appreciate you for this and will remember you. Do this with enough people, and you will have a huge following in no time.

Think About Others Who Are Unforgettable to You
If you want to learn how to be unforgettable, follow people who already are (or were). Read stories and profiles of famous people who you would like to emulate. While you don’t want to be exactly like them, you want to try to take after what they did, as long as it fits with your personality and you are comfortable repeating their steps. Of course, sometimes it’s better to get outside that comfort zone to grow as a person. When you learn to take the same steps, you can become as unforgettable as they were.

Think Outside the Box
No one gets remembered for doing the same thing that everyone else is doing. When you search for ways that others aren’t, you will stand out among your peers. It may not seem popular when you first set out to do things differently, but if you make it work, this will turn around quickly.

Over time, people will remember you as being innovative and will welcome your ideas as they will see them as possible solutions.
You probably always hear the advice about thinking outside the box, but do you ever hear about how actually to do it?
While there are no rules for thinking outside the box (that’s entirely the point), there are some ways to approach it. When you are confronted with a problem, look at how others have dealt with that problem. Try an alternative approach to see if you can come up with another solution. As an example, a person who was looking for tickets to a concert came up short when trying to obtain them in the Northeast, United States. Instead of giving up, he called up Ticket Master locations in California who were just starting to sell. This person was able to take advantage of the earlier time zone to obtain the desired tickets.

It was a successful technique. This is a good example of how he was thinking outside the box. You can bet this person’s friends found him to be quite memorable when grabbing the tickets. Most people would have accepted that there were no more tickets.

Use Theatrics When Necessary
There is one person in every crowd that seems to gain attention by being a bit overly theatrical. Sometimes, it can be annoying. But, it always gets attention. These people have a tendency to be remembered because they put on a good show. We like a good show.

Even though It’s not easy if your personality is not geared towards it but try it for yourself...

You never know. It could be something they enjoy. You don’t want to be too dramatic, but a little flair can go a long way. The chances of being remembered are greater for people who can hit it off.

Take on a Leadership Role
When you take ownership of something, you will be looked upon as the leader.

When you succeed in what you are doing, people will look up to you and remember that it was you that helped make it happen. While you should rely on a team effort in most cases, when you are the one setting the direction, people will follow your lead. Keep a firm grasp on the situation and learn as much as you can about the team and the tasks at hand.

Good leaders also know how to follow. Sometimes, you will find that you need to let others take on the leadership role even if you are the one accepted to hold that title. People know more than we like to give them credit and they are capable of many skills. By relying on the expertise of others, they will appreciate you and will remember you in the process. Clearly, you are the one responsible in the end, but it’s okay to give up some of your leadership to others.

Prop Up Others
When you recognize others for what they do or who they are, you can bet they will remember you for this. People like to be recognized, and it goes a long way in boosting their confidence. Don’t do this in a manipulative way. Otherwise, they and others will see through this guise. Be genuine in your praise.

How to Increase Your Charisma
Charisma is the act of setting yourself apart from others or being set apart somehow. While many associate charisma as a positive aspect, it can also be used in a negative manner. Many notorious leaders in history are attributed to having charisma.

When used for positive purposes, charisma can help you become unforgettable. Charisma is not good or evil. It’s how it is used that makes the difference. If you are looking to be more charismatic, and intend to use it for good purposes, then you should start by following people who are charismatic themselves. Pay special attention to how they act as well as their mannerisms. Try to be subtle so as not to appear like you are latching onto them.

Also, imagine yourself as if you are charismatic already!
Keep that mental picture going, and it will start to transform you into that person. If you don’t believe this works, try to remember the last time you fell in love with a movie star. Did you fall for the star themselves or did you fall for the character they were playing? It’s likely you fell for the character. In this way, the star took on the traits of someone who you found desirable. You can do the same thing with charisma.

Always Look Presentable
If you appear sloppy, you will be remembered in a negative light. This kind of attention is not necessarily what you want. Whenever you go out in public, whether it is for meetings or even it’s for casual encounters, try to be presentable.

There are situations where it’s okay to dress or look a certain way. For instance, if you are jogging, you are not expected to wear a business suit. People will accept the fact that you are wearing appropriate gear while you are exercising.

When you are hanging out with your friends, you don’t necessarily have to be as presentable, but you don’t want to be sloppy, either. Even among your friends, they will have an opinion about you. You never know when they will be put in the situation of recommending you. They will be less likely to do so if you have a sloppy demeanor.
For most situations, you want to give you best presentation. Keep clean and put on presentable clothing.

Embrace Your Uniqueness
People like to conform because they fear the ramifications of not doing so. But, most people will appreciate others who are unique. They respect people who are willing to stand out from the crowd. Some may find you strange when you do this. But, as long as you keep to who you are, most will recognize your uniqueness and remember you for it.

It’s important that you don’t try to be unique just for the sake of being unique. This will likely come off as being phony and doing something you and others find uncomfortable. There are reasons to think outside the box, but you need to fit it within your own personality.

How to Push Through When You Want to Quit

We all have wanted to throw our hands in the air and scream, “I quit,’ more than once in our lives. Yes, there are times when you should quit, such as working on something so hard, it seriously impacts your mental health. It is okay to quit, reset and rethink what you are doing, then go forward with a new plan. When you want to quit and there isn’t a life altering reason why you should, then look to the main reasons to buckle down and get at it.

Your starting point to understand why you need to push through the wall is pretty simple. It is called the, “Big Why?” Unless your big why is not fully understood, chances are you will quit. Taking the time to sit down and write out all the reasons why you shouldn’t quit, often will be enough to propel you forward. Ask yourself if you are doing this for you and why you deserve it. You might have a family and you look back on your childhood with some dismay. You want something much better for your family and it means so much to you, that putting in 16 hours days is more than worth it.

To pump up that persistence muscle, you will occasionally have to reflect on the fact that there will be some serious roadblocks. Try sitting in a comfortable chair and look at the roadblocks, while asking yourself if they are super solid or are you blowing them up to the size of a mountain? Frequently we tend to take a situation and add in conversations and things that didn’t actually happen. Think about how many times, someone got you upset and you replayed the conversation over and over, with you giving different answers. The truth is, we can create worlds in our head, yet sometimes that world is full of anguish when it doesn’t have to be.

One way to stop projecting roadblocks in your mind, is to replay breakthrough events in your mind. These positive memories will make it hard for false roadblocks to grow. Everyone has breakthrough moments in their head. It may be simple ones, like struggling for two years in high school math but suddenly in the third year, a bright lightbulb comes on and you got it. It could also be more significant like trying for years to be the number one salesperson in your company, only to place 2nd. Then you turned that frustration into action and put in the hours and calls that made you number one. The feeling of hitting that huge goal and the pleasure of getting a massive bonus was truly exciting.

For those who say they never had a breakthrough moment or have any memories of being a winner, then create one. Your brain cannot tell the difference between a real event and one you create if you put enough power into it. Simply write a scene where you had a serious roadblock and you “Hulked Up,” smashing the obstacle in your way. Put serious emotion into it, picture yourself, jumping up and down, screaming in a loud voice, “I did it!” When you replay this scene in your mind, it will be a real movie. Sports people do this all the time. The best free throwers in basketball, have a mental picture in their mind that supports them. They see and feel themselves stepping up to the line, bouncing the ball a few times before throwing it and boom! Nothing but net, no rim bouncers here in this mental replay.

When overwhelm hits you and you’re trying to push through, stop and take a break. Detoxing your brain is super healthy, the same as detoxing your body. In this case, shut off your phone and all electronics. Get outdoors and play. It does not matter where you live or what you do, so long as you are moving and smiling. Give yourself one to three days and don’t think about why you wanted to quit. Simply detox. When you are ready, re-focus on what you want and why…then take massive action.

Still struggling? Then the answer is to forget the HOW and find the WHO. Who has been there before you and achieved what you are trying to achieve, who has helped someone just like you to achieve their goals? Reach out, successful people are the ones most willing to help others because they know the hard times as well as the good. If all else fails.... Success leaves clues. Read a book for google your heroes and their journey. It's all out there. You will find that you only fail when you quit (and changing direction isn't quitting)

Do These 5 Things to Make Sure You Stay Motivated

You’re midway through the project, and you’re losing interest. And it happens to everyone at some point when you lose your reason to get out of bed for that early more training session. Motivation is about to go out the window, and you feel helpless to keep it. What can you do to stay motivated, so that you’re able to stay on track through the remainder of the project? Try these tips:

1. The first thing you need to do is to visualize your success. Before you go another step, you need to see yourself at the end of the project with everything accomplished to your satisfaction. Why? Because what we tell ourselves will happen – will happen exactly how we tell ourselves. So if you’re caught up in thoughts of failure, you’re already likely to crash and burn. Likewise, if you see yourself at the finish line, with the project completed, you’re much more likely actually to succeed. So keep a positive image in your head, and keep going. It's impossible to visualise success however if you haven't aspired to achieve something. A clear measurable goal makes all of the difference.

2. Next, stop worrying. Yes, that’s easier said than done, but the more you worry, the more you’re going to derail not just your motivation, but any energy and enthusiasm you still had for the project. To do this, you’re going to have to look critically at what you’re doing and ask yourself if there are things you can change. If so – change them. If not, then let them go. Motivated people don’t get caught up in worry, but instead, they make it a habit of looking to the future. They make a habit of their success strategy, great routines that become part of their lifestyle.

3. If you intend to stay motivated, then you’re going to need to be consistent in action and in setting positive goals. Motivation flags when neglected, so to keep the energy where it’s going to do the project the most good, you’ll want to make sure that you’re constantly moving forward. That means checking your motivation levels daily and then taking action to keep those levels up. Even if you’re taking the weekend off from work, you should take at least a few minutes to indulge in thoughts about your project, where you remind yourself that you’re looking forward to jumping back in on Monday morning. That keeps motivation and interest high even when you’re not working.

4. If you’re still having trouble with motivation, check to see who’s hanging around. It could be that you have too many negative influences around you. Surround yourself with positive people, who are also highly motivated individuals. All that positive energy is bound to rub off on you!

5. Lastly, keep a positive environment where motivation can thrive. Listen to music that motivates. Use positive affirmations, read motivational books or listen to podcasts that make you want to jump right back into your project. A lot of staying motivation comes from feeding yourself with a steady diet of things that motivate.

Staying motivated doesn’t have to be an impossible task. Some attention to the details will keep you on track as you work and help you to get to the finish line. Be mindful of what you’re doing, and with a variety of positive influences, you’ll get to where you want to go.

The Connection Between Good Health & Personal Success

Look after yourself. Easy to say but sometimes hard to do. When worrying about the impact of world conflict or battling through a pandemic, being in good health places you in a much stronger position to deal with the challenges facing you.

When you’re working on growing your business, working hard to get that next promotion, or pay your rising bills, it’s easy to put in long, hard hours and in the process neglect your health. I get it. It’s hard to eat right and make time for exercise, or even get enough sleep when you’re working 12 hours a day. The problem is that by ignoring those healthy habits, you may be shooting yourself in the foot. Let’s look at how your health and your success are linked.

The link is easiest to see when your health isn’t where it should be. Think about the last time you had a bad cold or some back pain. Being fairly uncomfortable didn’t make it easy to get work done, did it? Chances are everything took you much longer because it was harder to focus. Your productivity started going down, and you were more prone to make mistakes.

The sicker you get, or the more pain you’re in, the worse the effects are. But even something as simple as a stiff neck, or not getting a good night sleep will influence your work or training. It doesn’t take much to cut into your focus and productivity. Thankfully the opposite is also true. Some small positive changes and healthy habits can help you get better at what you do and in turn set you up for business success.

Getting a solid eight hours of sleep is one of the best things you can do to make sure you’re ready for a productive day at the office. Going out for a brisk walk on your lunch break is a great way to combat the afternoon slump. Getting up and frequently stretching throughout the day not only avoids tension in your neck and back, but also gives you a chance to think through your next task instead of doing busy work.

Start paying attention to your daily habits from your sleep schedule to what you eat and how much you move around. Start taking better care of yourself and your body. Take those vitamins, eat something that’s good for you for lunch, and get in 30 minutes of exercise per day. In short, cultivate some healthy habits and watch how it starts to change your body, your mind, and your business for the better.

You don’t have to make this hard or difficult. Instead, start with something easy like going to bed at a certain hour or making an effort to drink enough water throughout the day. Work on one healthy habit at a time. Stick with it, and it won’t be long before you start seeing results.
