Dear Families,
As Little Nippers Pre School prepares to formally close and dissolve, we want to thank you for being part of our community.
As part of our closing process, we must legally and safely manage our historic records. We are writing to inform you that our preschool archives and legal documents are being transferred as an asset to The Social Action Hub. They will become the new "Data Controller" of this information once our dissolution is complete.
1. Why is my family’s data being transferred?
When a preschool closes, it cannot simply destroy all records. UK law mandates that educational, financial, and safeguarding records must be kept for specific periods. Because our unincorporated charity is dissolving, we cannot hold this data.
We have chosen The Social Action Hub to take custody of these archives because they share our values and possess the secure infrastructure needed to protect your privacy.
2. What data is included in the transfer?
Depending on when your child attended and your relationship with the preschool, the transferred archives may include:
• Child registration forms, attendance registers, and progress reports.
• Special Educational Needs (SEN) records and medical/dietary alerts.
• Confidential safeguarding files and accident logs.
• Parent contact details and fee payment histories.
3. Our Legal Basis for Transferring Data
Under the UK GDPR, we rely on Legitimate Interests to transfer these archives. We have conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) which confirms that transferring the data to a secure successor charity is necessary to comply with legal retention guidelines and to protect the vital interests of former pupils.
Where records contain sensitive "special category" information (such as health or safeguarding details), the transfer is processed for substantial public interest purposes to ensure ongoing child protection and legal accountability.
4. How will my data be protected?
We have signed a formal Data Transfer Agreement (DTA) with The Social Action Hub. This legally binding contract ensures that:
• Your data will be stored securely using encryption for digital files and locked facilities for physical paperwork.
• The data will only be accessed if required for legal reasons, safeguarding reviews, or historic references.
• The data will never be used for marketing purposes.
• Files will be permanently and securely destroyed automatically once their legal retention period expires (for example, safeguarding files are held until a child reaches age 25).
5. Your Rights
Under data protection law, you retain your rights regarding your personal information. You can contact the new data controller to request access to your data, restrict its processing, or object to the transfer. Please note that if a record is legally required to be kept (such as safeguarding files), the right to erasure may not apply.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Little Nippers Preschool will close its doors for the final time on 24th July 2026.

This is not an announcement we ever wanted to make. Like many charities, we have faced increasing financial challenges over the past 12 months. Despite exploring every possible option, we have reached the heartbreaking conclusion that the charity is no longer financially sustainable.

We met with our members on Monday to discuss the future of the charity. Sadly, no viable solution could be identified that would allow us to continue operating.

Until the end of term, we remain fully committed to providing the high-quality care and support that families have come to expect from us over the years. While there are legal processes that now need to be followed, these should have little or no impact on the children during this time.

We know this news will come as a tremendous disappointment to our families and the wider community. For many of you, Little Nippers has been part of your lives for generations—whether your children have attended, or you were once a child here yourself. We are incredibly proud of everything the setting has achieved and of the reputation it has built within our community.

We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to everyone, in particular The Python Hill academy (The Forge Trust) and The Social Action Hub, for their invaluable support and guidance over the past few weeks. Your kindness, expertise, and encouragement have meant so much during this incredibly difficult time.

Finally, to our amazing staff, past and present: thank you. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment have been at the heart of everything we have achieved. You have given your heart and soul to the children and families we serve, and you should be immensely proud of the difference you have made. We are truly heartbroken that this chapter is coming to an end.

As we work through the closure process, we kindly ask for your patience, understanding, and support. Please help us by avoiding speculation, as there are still important legal and practical matters to complete. If you have any questions, please do get in touch and we will ensure you are directed to the most appropriate person who can help.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Little Nippers over the years. It has been a privilege to be part of so many children's early years, and we will always be grateful for the trust and support of our families and community.

Our preschool is one of the best in the village and surrounding areas with a huge outdoor space for free-flow play, a mud kitchen, flower and veg gardens for planting, bikes/trikes, cars, slides, sandpit, swings, decking area for mark making and lots more fun and exciting things to see, learn and do!!!
We also have 2 spacious areas inside! "The Turtle Room" 🐢 for 2-3 year olds and "The Jellyfish Area"🪼 for 3-4 year olds! We also have a Sensory room for children who need that little bit extra care and support with their needs and a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator who can advise and support both you and your child! 😍😍 We have fully qualified early years specialists in every area who care and nurture your little ones like they were their own children and our ratios are very low, meaning your children get more quality 1:1 time with their key person! ❤️❤️ We are dedicated to providing outstanding care, learning and support for every child and helping your little ones develope at their own pace! We have a committed Speech&Language Coordinator 😍 , 2 Designated Safeguarding Leads and all staff are Paediatric first aid trained, health and safety trained and hold all current fire safety and food hygiene training!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
