A huge thankyou to Mark Hall my talented Dad for making me this farmers market stall for the forest school! The children loved playing with this today. A new addition for role play, it will be filled with seasonal fresh goodness, for children to play with each session

🥕 Farmers’ Market Forest School Role Play
Children can take part in a pretend farmers’ market using fresh vegetables and natural materials. They can take turns being the farmer, market stall holder and customer, choosing vegetables, weighing them, pricing them and exchanging pretend money.
Benefits for children:

🥦 Healthy eating: Introduces children to fresh vegetables and encourages curiosity about different foods.

🌱 Understanding where food comes from: Helps children learn about growing, harvesting and selling food.

💷 Maths skills: Counting, weighing, sorting, comparing quantities and using money.

🗣️ Communication and language: Encourages conversation, asking questions, listening and developing new vocabulary.

🤝 Social skills: Promotes sharing, turn-taking, cooperation and negotiating.

🎭 Imaginative play: Allows children to develop their own roles and stories through real-life role play.

✋ Sensory development: Children can touch, smell and explore different textures, shapes and colours of vegetables.

🌿 Connection with nature

💪 Confidence and independence: Gives children opportunities to make choices, take responsibility and interact with others.

I am looking forward to adding to this over Autumn. If anyone has any fresh fruit or veg they wish to donate or flower cuttings/herbs we can always use these things. Along with paper bags, canvas bags, maybe a wooden till?
