Many of our year 7 students are on their Bushcraft Adventure residential this week.

This is a brilliant opportunity to learn new skills and make lasting memories and friendships. We hope you all have a wonderful time!

This trip was kindly funded by the Samworth Foundation.

Students, parents & carers and staff gathered at the Samworth Church Academy this week to celebrate our young people at Awards Evening 2026.

From subject awards to Shields for those who have achieved beyond academic success, we celebrated students who have truly embodied our values to Be The Best You Can Be.

Thank you to Mr Copley-Dunn and our talented student band and choir who provided musical accompaniment. Many thanks to Mr Preece and all those who supported while organising the event.

And the biggest thanks goes to our wonderful parents and carers whose constant support of these brilliant young people and our Academy makes all the difference.

In the past fortnight we said a fond farewell to our Year 11s and Year 13s as they near the end of exam season, and move on to the next step in their journey.

It’s always a mix of excitement, nostalgia, joy and a few tears as we celebrate our young people and wish them the very best.

This is not goodbye, this is just the beginning. Good luck with your last few exams, and whichever path you have chosen next.

And remember you will always be a part of the Samworth Church Academy family.

The Opportunity Trust grant application deadline is coming soon! Apply by Friday 3rd July.

Grant applications are open to individual students, so if you have a project you’re passionate about but need support to achieve, this is for you.

Opportunity Trust supports Samworth Church Academy students to achieve in ways that would not normally be covered by the standard curriculum. Students have received Opportunity Trust grants to go abroad and make a difference to people who are in less fortunate situations than ourselves, and to take part in sports and other activities that they otherwise could not afford to do, including dancing, skiing, golf and martial arts.
