Country Kids Day Nursery Rainworth Day Nursery and Pre School for children aged 12 weeks - 5 years old. We also welcome children aged 5 We also offer holiday club for children aged up to 11 years.

Country Kids Day Nursery offers childcare from 12 weeks - 5 years in our fantastic nursery rooms. Situated in Rainworth (NG21 0DU), our nursery is open 8am-6pm with morning, afternoon and all day sessions available. We offer FREE funded childcare places, with no hidden costs. That means no consumable or meal costs alongside our funding, the hours are completely free of charge. We currently offer 15 hours of funding to all children aged 2-5 years, and 30 hours of funding to eligible 3 year olds. From September 2024, we will be offering 15 hours worth of childcare to eligible children from the age of 9 months. The best way to get a feel for our nursery and to see whether we are right for you and your family, is to book a show around with our lovely team here at Country Kids. Things that make complete sense when you’re 3… 😂

Asking “why?” approximately 472 times a day, insisting “I can do it myself!”, making a new best friend in five minutes and never, ever walking past a puddle.

Three is curious, cheeky, independent, messy and full of personality ... and we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🥹

It might just look like a little moment of play, but these one-to-one moments are such an important part of our days. 🤍

Whether it’s a few minutes playing together, a little conversation or simply sitting alongside them, it gives our practitioners the chance to follow a child’s lead, respond to their cues and give them that individual attention.

These little pockets of one-to-one time help build close, secure relationships, so our children feel comfortable, understood and know there’s always someone there for them.🥰

When the sun comes out, so does the water tray. ☀️

It was such a beautiful morning, so our under 2s headed outside to make the most of it with plenty of water in the tuff tray, and they absolutely loved it.

This is a lovely example of what we mean by child-led learning. There’s no set way they have to play. They’re free to explore the water in their own way: splashing it, pouring it, touching it, watching it move and doing the same thing over and over again if that’s what interests them.

All that splashing has a purpose too! They’re beginning to discover cause and effect, "when I hit the water, it splashes; when I tip this, the water pours out" ... while developing their coordination and exploring through their senses.

And judging by how wet everyone got, they took the exploring VERY seriously. 😂

There’s a reason we always ask our under 2s parents to keep us well stocked with spare clothes! 🤍

They showed us how to brush, what is healthy and unhealthy for our teeth and even left us some toothbrushes too!🪥

Music and dancing is a big part of our days at Country Kids Rainworth. 💃🕺

We make time for it every day, whether that’s putting on a favourite song for a good dance, singing together or adding things like colourful scarves for our children to wave, twirl and move with.🪇

For our over 2s, it’s a chance to move their whole bodies, build coordination and confidence, express themselves and enjoy being part of something together.

Plus, it brings a lot of smiles ... which is a pretty good reason to dance every day too. 🥰

Painting with a little twist 🎨

Our fantastic practitioner Beth led this activity with our over 2s, exploring our shape of the week... the square, through lots of hands-on, messy play.

Instead of paintbrushes, Beth introduced different materials including LEGO and bottle tops for the children to dip into the paint and stamp onto their paper, discovering the different shapes, patterns and marks they could make. 🧱

Such a lovely way to explore shapes through play, while giving the children plenty of freedom to experiment and get creative. 🤍

We’re nearing the end of week 4 of our first term at nursery 🤍

For lots of our families, this is their child’s very first term with us, and we know starting nursery can bring ALL the emotions.

For some, they’ve skipped through the doors without looking back. For others, it’s taken a little more time to find their feet. And for parents, sometimes they’re absolutely fine… while you’re the one walking back to the car feeling emotional. 🥹

Four weeks in, we’re seeing new routines becoming familiar, little friendships forming, favourite activities being discovered and so many personalities coming out of their shells.

However the first few weeks have looked for your family, there’s no ‘right’ way to settle into nursery.

We’ve put together a few things we wish every parent knew when starting their nursery journey. 🤍

Why do we make so much time for movement at nursery? 🎶

Because little ones LOVE to move… and it’s so good for them too! 💃🕺

Whether we’re dancing to our favourite songs, jumping, stretching, stomping or just having a good old wiggle, they’re working on their balance, coordination and confidence without even realising it.

Sometimes there’s no big activity needed, just some music, a bit of room and lots of moving our bodies. 🤍

And yes… the grown-ups usually end up joining in too!

It might look like a little splash in the water, but for our babies, even the simplest experiences can support so much development. 🚰

Feeling the water on their hands gives them a chance to explore different sensations, while reaching, patting and splashing helps develop their hand-eye coordination and those early physical skills.

They’re also beginning to understand cause and effect, when I move my hand, the water splashes! All while watching, listening and exploring what happens next.

For our babies, learning starts with exploring the world around them… even if that means getting a little bit wet! 🥰

Our walls are proudly filled with our children’s artwork. 🎨🤍

Displaying their creations is about so much more than making our rooms look lovely.

When children see something they’ve made proudly displayed, it shows them that their ideas, effort and creativity are valued, helping to build confidence and a real sense of belonging in their nursery environment.

As we explore new topics and interests, we change our displays too, giving our children new opportunities to create, experiment and show us their own interpretation of what they’ve been learning.

We love that our rooms reflect the children who spend their days in them, their learning, their imagination and, most importantly, work that they can proudly say, “I made that!” 🥰
