This months Scale Of The Month is Lydian Dominant. It’s is the fourth mode of the Melodic Minor scale and is built with the intervals 1 2 3 ♯4 5 6 ♭7. It’s a really cool scale that is used by a lot of modern jazz players. The ♯4 adds a certain eeriness over regular dominant chords, but obviously loves being paired with a 7♯11! I’ve used it here over a good old C7. 🖤🎶

I love using an electric to play fingerstyle stuff. It doesn't work with everything, but if you need that mellow tone then it really does the trick.
Oh, and you can lob a load of reverb on it!
