Fab to visit Mansfield Lawn Tennis Club to have a look at their new online booking system, which Cllr Callaghan and I contributed to from our County Council Divisional funding. It means you can now pay and play at the club, even if you're not a member, and book floodlit courts through their website.

Bumped in to Newlands Junior School doing a taster session with the tennis club too 👍 Looked like the guys were enjoying it, and we even managed to grab a picture. Great stuff! Looking forward to popping back to Newlands for another school visit soon.

Our pupils, families and staff have managed to raise a massive £2,184.20 for three charities during three events at school. 💕

Pupils took part in a sponsored Race for Life 🏃‍♀️ last term, brought in £1 to dress in yellow for YoungMinds 💛 and staff baked and brought cakes and treats 🍰 for Macmillan!

Reece in year 6 had this to say about Hello Yellow " We learnt about mental health and how people shouldn't be left out. It felt good to be nice to each other". 💬

A reminder for our Halloween Disco! This will take place on the first day back after the October half term.

Tickets can be purchased during playtime Tuesday and Wednesday on the last week of half term.

Last week the pupils at Newlands held their harvest festival at All Saints church.

We collected 29 full shopping bags of food, which have been sent to the food bank in Mansfield Woodhouse, that serves our area and others.

Thomas (year 4) said " It made me happy to see the donations because people might not be able to buy food for themselves". Tori (year 4) added " I liked all the songs we sang".

On Friday we’re showing young people that they’re not alone with their mental health and raising vital funds for YoungMinds. 💛

Pupils will have the opportunity to wear yellow and donate £1.

So, dig out your neon socks, custard scarf and banana hat, and join us in saying this Friday 8 October. 💛
