During Session 4, our students choose the activity they would like to take part in, giving them the opportunity to follow their interests while developing important skills such as teamwork, resilience, communication and independence.

Last week, students enjoyed a fantastic range of activities, including nature art, slime making, sensory circuits, clay modelling and painting. It was wonderful to see everyone exploring their creativity, trying new experiences and supporting one another along the way.

This week in Physics, our students have been exploring the wonders of the solar system!

They learned about the order of the planets, discussed the universe and its fascinating properties, and researched interesting space facts to create a fantastic classroom display.

Everyone played a part in bringing our solar system to life. Students got creative using a range of textures, including papier-mache, tissue paper and paint, while those who preferred not to get involved in the mess contributed by researching and sharing fascinating facts about each planet.

A brilliant example of teamwork, creativity and hands-on learning.

Stepping outside your comfort zone can be challenging, but that's exactly what our students did during the Leap of Faith (jumping off the 7m high climbing wall on the fan descender! ) with a activity in the Woodland Adventure Zone.

As the session went on, it was fantastic to see confidence grow, with many students overcoming their initial hesitation to complete the challenge. They listened carefully to instructions, followed safety procedures and encouraged one another every step of the way.

Activities like this help students build confidence, resilience and teamwork, while celebrating both their own achievements and those of their peers.

In KS4 Biology, our students have been revisiting the fascinating world of cell biology.
After recapping the organelles found in both plant and animal cells, students explored cells using microscopes and microscopic images on laptops.

They then applied their knowledge by creating detailed scientific drawings and identifying the different organelles they observed.
A fantastic hands-on lesson that combined observation, investigation, and scientific understanding!

In KS4 Biology, students have been putting their scientific skills into practice with a fun experiment to discover which biscuit is the best 'dunker'. 🍪☕

By timing how long different biscuits took to break, students identified the independent, dependent and control variables, made predictions, recorded their results, and presented their findings in graphs.

They then used their data to draw evidence-based conclusions about which biscuit came out on top.

In English recently, our Year 10 students have begun planning their GCSE Speaking and Listening tasks.

Here's a fantastic example of one student's work, exploring the topic: "Why Music Is Good for Our Mental Health."

We can't wait to see these ideas develop into confident and thought-provoking presentations!

Students explored 3D shapes through a creative paper mâché project.

Students designed and built a variety of 3D shapes before identifying and naming them. They then investigated the properties of each shape by counting the number of faces, edges and vertices.

This hands on activity combined creativity with Maths, helping students develop their understanding of shape, spatial awareness and mathematical vocabulary in a fun and engaging way.
