🏸Family Multisport is back this Sunday in the Newstart Hall at Portland College!

Bring the whole family along to Family Multisport and have a go at a different sport each week!

This Sunday, it’s time for BADMINTON at Newstart Hall! 🏸

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love badminton, come along, pick up a racket, have a rally and enjoy some family-friendly fun.

This Week in the Classroom: KS3 Biology

This week, our KS3 learners have been exploring diffusion through a series of mini experiments!
Learners made some great predictions before putting their ideas to the test, then used key scientific vocabulary including concentration, gradient, movement and particles to explain their results.

A brilliant Ofsted result for Pollyteach!

We’re delighted to share that following Pollyteach’s Ofsted Inspection on 7 July, they achieved ‘Expected Standard’ on the new inspection framework, with all independent school and safeguarding standards met.

Inspectors highlighted our caring and inclusive environment, strong relationships, personalised support and focus on preparing students for adulthood.

A huge thank you to our students, families and Pollyteach team for helping make our school the supportive and welcoming community it is.

Portland College is the venue once again this weekend for this fabulous event, perfectly inclusive for the whole family!

Wired Differently Festival itself is completely packed with things to see and do, including Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir, therapy donkeys, sensory activities, reptiles, crafts, games, woodland activities, SEN football and plenty more.

🎟️Free entry

The whole of the Portland campus will be utilised with a reflective woodland area to sit and have a minute, the Portland Coffee Shop will be open with a queue buddy who will jump in and take your place if queueing feels overwhelming for you, a woodland scavenger hunt, and our wonderful Woodland Adventure Zone will be open with soon-to-be announced activities!

Also, look out for India who will be at the Portland Assessments stand on Sunday. India will be there to talk all things autism and ADHD assessments, providing all of the advice and guidance you may need if you are looking for a potential diagnosis.

A week on, and we are still celebrating our GCSE results and the fantastic achievements of our Pollyteach students.

We are delighted to share that 100% of students have confirmed positive post-16 destinations, marking an exciting next step in their journeys.

We could not be prouder of every student. Their hard work, determination and commitment have been incredible to see, and it was fantastic to celebrate their achievements with them on Results Day.

Congratulations to everyone on all you have achieved, and good luck as you take your next steps. We cannot wait to see what you achieve next!
