JUNIOR SHOWTIME OVERALL WINNERS!!!

Excelsior Dance Studios had a crazy time at the Junior Showtime Final yesterday - 27 acts had been selected at the heats in February from over 100 vocalists, dance acts, troupes, duets and trios.

Excelsior were awarded BEST DANCE TROUPE with their company group, Divinity - dancing a high energy Musical Theatre Jazz fusion to Bad Romance.

Aurora & Emilia were awarded BEST DUET/TRIO with a comical and characterful tap routine to the iconic singing in the rain classic, Moses Supposes.

Though the awards didn’t stop there!

Once all category winners had been announced, it was time for the overalls…

It really couldn’t have gone much better!

Huge well done to all our acts in the final and of course to the collective group who train and work so hard and closely together week in and week out in order to produce material and pieces of such quality. Huge shout out to its choreographer, HOLLIE MATTHEWS - It truly was a masterclass in entertainment and to Angela and Olivia who had worked with the duet and trios - what a team!!!!

HALF TERM CATCH-UP!

By popular demand, Excelsior hosted its very first DANCE CAMP last Thursday - and what a fantastic response!

The 6-hour day camp was sold out even before it could make it to this page! 😱

A fantastic fun-filled day of creativity and confidence - not forgetting an epic game of hide and seek. 🙈😂

We are absolutely blown away by the response and reports of how much our students enjoyed the day and we CANNOT WAIT to announce the next one!

As part of our Triple Threat Musical Theatre Programme, we were thrilled to welcome the incredible Holly Willock for a one-off Musical Theatre extravaganza last Monday!

✨✨✨✨✨⭐️⭐️✨✨✨✨✨

Holly, a highly successful Musical Theatre performer has starred in shows such as Cats, Mean Girls, Hairspray and Joseph, to name a few. So we were super excited to hear she would be teaching iconic routines from these productions, giving our students the chance to learn straight from the stage.

Alongside this, Olivia, our vocal coach, lead bespoke vocal arrangements to our juniors and seniors bringing the full triple-threat experience to life in this exclusive workshop.

Such a fantastic opportunity for our team of budding talent and a great evening had by all!

It was busy half term at EXCELSIOR DANCE STUDIOS…

Sunday 15th February saw the return of the Junior Showtime heats and we are excited to announce that the Excelsior acts going through to the final are …

⭐️Aurora & Emilia with their energetic and comical tap duet

⭐️Lilly, Robyn & Evie with a jazz trio and Lilly on vocal

⭐️Divinity Dance Troupe with a show- stopping ‘Bad Romance’ from Moulin Rouge.

Our finalists will now battle it out against an array of selected dance acts, vocalist, instrumentalists and troupes on Sunday 22nd March all in the hope of being crowned Junior Showtime Champions 2026.

Huge well done to all our acts involved in the heats - you really showed the judges what we’re about!

🎊🎉👏Let’s hear it for LUCY!!!!👏🎉🎊

Last year was an extremely busy year for our very own, Lucy Burton-Carpenter and we are so proud to celebrate this fabulous talent becoming a fully qualified IDTA teacher 👏

Lucy has trained with us for many years, and her dedication, passion and hard work have truly paid off.

In the lead-up to her exam, Lucy worked tirelessly as a student teacher, gaining valuable hands-on experience across a wide range of classes and dance styles, alongside in-depth study of dance theory under the guidance and mentoring of senior teachers, Hollie and Angela. This dedication led to a rigorous, in-depth face-to-face examination with an IDTA examiner and we are delighted to say that Lucy absolutely smashed it - receiving top marks! 🎉 💥

As if that wasn’t enough, Lucy continued her studies into the year and went on to also pass her Acrobatic Arts coaching course — an incredible achievement! 😱

What a busy yet rewarding and fulfilling year for Lucy, and what fantastic news for Excelsior Dance Studios in gaining such an inspirational and passionate young professional 💙

The good news keeps flooding in for our students!!!

As if 100% top marks in our recent Musical Theatre weren’t enough, we have now received an email from the IDTA head office to inform us that THREE of our soloists had impressed the examiner so much, they have been nominated for a national Musical Theatre Award!!!😲
