Hi everyone,
If you're looking for continuous kickboxing categories at the WKO European championships on the 24th May, please have a look at the picture attached!

Only the 2nd one is being held on the 24th and that's the only day Yu Martial Arts Collective will be attending so if you're looking at which continous kickboxing category to go in please remember to look for the continuous word and if you have any doubts whatsoever please shout up. πŸ™πŸ½

So now that our black belt gradings in both kickboxing and Shotokan Karate are completed, the emphasis at Yu Martial Arts Collective moves to our next competition events.

Both the forms and fight squads are attending both the WKO European championships in Barnsley on Sunday 24th May and the IMAC open in Bubwith on 7th June.

Yu Mac is now registered for both events so please register in the categories you want to compete in. Please note that for the WKO European championships we will only be entering events on the 24th (SUNDAY) and these should be marked as Tatami. Please don't enter ring sport events for the Saturday as we're not going! πŸ˜„

If you have any doubts or questions, please speak to squad instructors or message on here. πŸ™πŸ½

Met another of the new Yu Martial Arts Collective black belt assistant coaches tonight!

They all seem to be a lot younger, better looking and have hair! Not sure I approve πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Tournament events for 2026.

It may be bank holiday but we're still working behind the scenes to decide our schedule of events for 2026.

As always our first and highest priority is to find events that both the forms and fight squads of Yu Martial Arts Collective can attend together.

Because of how successful the Kata team was last year at the WKA world championships representing WKO England team, the WKO have decided to include some Kata and kumite events this year so we'll be doing that event, we also have the opportunity to compete locally in Nottingham at the Kaizen event in October.

The joint squad events are as follows :

WKO European championships May 24th (only)

IMAC open June 7th

Kaizen champions event Oct 11th.

Yu Mac are already registered for WKO and Kaizen, IMAC open will also running via KHIAPP and registration will be open soon.

Sensei Paul Cook, John Holloway and I will be discussing this with both squads over the weekend as we want a FULL team attendance at these events but also need to ensure that squad members register for the appropriate categories.

If you have any questions please contact me directly or comment below. πŸ™πŸ½
