Stepping Stones Day Nursery - Worsley

Stepping Stones Day Nursery - Worsley We are dedicated providers of inspirational childcare for little ones aged 3 months to 5 years.

Our caring and highly skilled team provide safe and nurturing environments where children explore, learn, and grow in a fun and stimulating environment! The Personal Touch...
We understand and recognise the relationships and attachments that babies and young children have with significant adults is of crucial importance in their life. We therefore provide a caring and consistent team of practition

ers and as a result your child will benefit from the close and caring interactions of familiar team members. Your child will develop in confidence, independence, have motivation and self fulfilment and develop a true love of learning. We operate a key person system, which means your child will have a specific person who will be responsible for catering, nurturing and developing their individual needs. Your child’s key person will be the one who records and plans for your child and updates their learning journey and writes their progress checks (don’t worry we will discuss this in detail a bit later!), supports them at pivotal times in their life such as, walking, weaning, toilet training and name writing etc, as well as the day to day care and attention you would expect. Your child’s key person will be on hand at either the beginning or the end of the day to discuss your child’s day and all other relevant details. We will also have in place a co-key person system, so when your child’s key person in not at nursery, they have that secondary person who will adopt those same responsibilities. All the team in your child’s base room will have a strong and significant relationship with your child and will be able to meet their day to day needs. You will quickly ease into nursery life developing relationships with all our team and in no time at all we will become your second home!

💜 Welcome to our Toddler Room 💜
Following our recent room changes, we wanted to give you a closer look at our Toddler Room and share some of the thinking behind the environment we have created. 👣
For our toddlers, we wanted a space that feels welcoming, purposeful and manageable, where children can play in smaller groups, build strong relationships and begin to develop those all-important early independence skills.
The room has been carefully organised into defined areas, giving children lots of opportunities to make choices and become increasingly confident in their play. From sand and water, creative and malleable experiences and imaginative play in our home corner, to construction and small world, games and puzzles, and our cosy reading area, there is plenty to explore. 🌱
At this stage of development, toddlers are beginning to want to “do it myself!” more and more. Having resources accessible to them and clearly defined spaces helps them to choose what they would like to explore, become involved in their own play and begin to take responsibility for their environment.
The more intimate room also supports smaller-group experiences and meaningful interactions with familiar adults, giving our team lots of opportunities to talk, play, model language, support friendships and extend children's learning.
We’re really pleased with how the room has come together and, most importantly, with the opportunities it gives our toddlers to explore, imagine, create and build confidence through play. 💕
Small groups, growing independence and lots of big learning. 🌈

💚 Welcome to Baby Care 💚
We’re excited to share a closer look at our newly arranged Baby Care environment at Worsley! 👣
With lots of new babies joining our Stepping Stones family, we’ve taken the opportunity to rethink how we use our spaces to make sure they work as well as possible for the children currently in our care.
Our larger Baby Care room gives our youngest children plenty of space to move, explore, play and discover, alongside smaller, carefully considered areas that support their individual needs and stages of development.
From sensory experiences with sand and water, to climbing and movement, treasure baskets, puzzles, books and music, every area has a purpose. We’ve also made sure there are cosy spaces for quieter moments and a cot available for our younger babies who may need to sleep outside of the room’s usual sleep times. 💤
At this age, some of the most important learning happens through the simplest experiences, reaching, grasping, moving, listening, exploring, repeating and, most importantly, connecting with the familiar adults around them. 💕
We’re really pleased with how Baby Care has come together and can't wait to see our babies explore their new environment.
Small moments, big foundations. 🌱

🥣 Parent Tip Tuesday – Little Hands, Big Learning! 💚
Did you know that cooking with your child is one of the best ways to support their development?
Whether you're stirring pancake batter, washing vegetables, sprinkling cheese on a pizza or baking fairy cakes, your child is learning so much more than how to cook.
Cooking together helps children to:
🥄 Develop fine motor skills through stirring, pouring and kneading.
🔢 Explore early maths by counting, measuring and comparing quantities.
💬 Build language as they learn new words and describe colours, smells and textures.
🧪 Discover early science by watching ingredients change when they're mixed, heated or cooled.
💚 Grow in confidence and become more willing to taste and enjoy new foods.
The best part? You don't need to make anything fancy. Helping to wash fruit, butter toast, mix ingredients or prepare a simple snack all provide wonderful learning opportunities.
🍓 This week, why not invite your little one into the kitchen and let them be your special helper?

We'd love to know... What's your child's favourite thing to help make? Share your ideas in the comments! 👇

💜 School Readiness Starts Here
Many parents worry:
"What if they can't talk much yet?"
"What if they still need help eating?"
"What if they don't play with other children?"
The truth is that children don't need to arrive at nursery already knowing everything.
Nursery is where they learn.
Through Tiny Talkers, Steps to Independence and Our Wonderful World, we help children develop confidence, communication, independence and curiosity every day.
Your child doesn't need to be ready for nursery.
Nursery helps them get ready for the world. 💜

🦷 Healthy Smiles Start Early! 🌟
As a parent, you play the biggest role in helping your child build healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Here are four simple ways to protect little teeth:
🪥 Brush your child's teeth twice a day using fluoride toothpaste.
🤝 Help or supervise brushing until they can do it well on their own.
🍓 Keep sugary snacks and drinks to a minimum, especially between meals. Water and milk are the best choices!
🦷 Take your child for regular dental check-ups – don't wait until there's a problem.
Healthy baby teeth are important for eating, speaking, and making space for adult teeth. Every little brush makes a big difference! 💙
