We've just completed a three-month review of our updated Data Protection and Information Governance Apprenticeship, and the early feedback from our apprentices and coaches is amazing!

The launch and first workshop have set a strong foundation, with apprentices benefitting from our scenario-based learning approach, commenting that they've particularly valued the chance to collaborate with peers and tackle real-world situations together.

What's really stood out to our coaches is the quality of early work. Apprentices are producing strong journal reflections and skills tasks, and engagement across module one has been consistently high (4.75/5).

Here at Damar, we regularly review our content, engagement and apprentice feedback. It helps us understand what's working and where we can keep improving and, ultimately, continue creating an apprenticeship that delivers real value for both learners and employers.

It's time for another apprentice success spotlight, and today it's on Sadakin at Manchester Airports Group! ✈️

As Sadakin's apprenticeship supervisor, Patrick Ballantine, reflects: "Sadakin has had a very positive impact on the team since joining as an apprentice and is really valued by all. Through the knowledge and practical expertise which he has developed during his apprenticeship, Sadakin has become a real problem solver."

Congratulations to Mariyah Waza for her recent success in completing her Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with distinction! 🎉

Sharing her thoughts and reflections with us, Mariyah said:

"When I first started, I was quite shy and often hesitant to approach or speak to people I didn't know. Throughout my apprenticeship, I have gradually stepped outside of my comfort zone, becoming much more confident, approachable, and proactive in communicating with others."

Alongside personal growth, Mariyah also added that she has "gained valuable workplace skills including organisation, time management, decision-making, stakeholder management, and interpersonal communication."

It's fantastic to see also that Mariyah has recognised the power of her apprenticeship, not only for right now but for her roles, growth and development going forward.

It's always a good start to the week when it includes congratulations - and today it's for Sasha Bowler at Howells Solicitors!

Recently passing her Paralegal Apprenticeship with a distinction, Sasha shared with us that "the biggest impact of the apprenticeship was helping me to develop the necessary skills to become a paralegal".

It was also great to hear Sasha specifically talk about the support she received from both Damar Training and her employer; apprenticeships are very much a collaborative effort and from Sasha's results, it's clear to see what can happen when everyone works together.

Earlier this year, we spoke to Rachel Morgan-Trimmer, Chris Bradshaw and Damar's own Nadya Murray on the topic of neurodiversity in the workplace and how inclusive approaches can benefit everyone.

Stepping up into practice management is an exciting progression, but even the most experienced professionals can find that leading people requires a whole new set of skills.

When Hayley Hadley was asked to step up from Operations Manager to Practice Manager at Townside Surgery, she knew the day-to-day operations inside out. However, she recognised that she had never received formal training in key management areas, such as leadership, people development, and navigating conflict.

To build that foundation, Hayley turned to Damar Training’s Operations Manager Apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with the Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM).

As the professional body for those working in general practice management, the IGPM partners with Damar to ensure the programme reflects the distinct realities, language and pressures of primary care.

For Hayley, the impact has been immediate and practical:

🔹Tackling difficult conversations with confidence rather than avoiding conflict
🔹Applying structured project management tools to lead the rollout of a new digital patient platform
🔹Developing self-awareness around leadership style and team values.

Supported by practice partner, Dr John Stoddart, one-to-one coaching from Damar and a collaborative network of peers facing similar challenges, Hayley has been able to balance flexible study with her day-to-day responsibilities.

Our Damar congratulations today go to Ewan Ivison at Bendles LLP!

Having recently passed his SQE2 exams, Ewan shared some thoughts with us about his apprenticeship experience 👇✨

"The biggest impact the apprenticeship has had on me is the confidence and independence it has given me. I have been able to combine practical experience with studying which has allowed me to develop both professionally and personally, and has given me a strong foundation for my career in law."

Ewan's apprentice supervisor, Hannah Smith, also added that Ewan is "an asset to his team and the firm as a whole, and his confidence has definitely grown over the course of his apprenticeship which is down to not only him gaining experience, but also the skills he has been taught."

A huge Damar congratulations today to Amelia Quince at Tees for her recent SQE2 results! ✨

Sharing her reflections, Amelia said: "The biggest impact the apprenticeship has had on me is that it made becoming a solicitor an accessible, enabling me to work and study at the same time, and to build up my skills and knowledge through practical on-the-job experience."

This is exactly what we set out to achieve: creating a pathway into the legal profession that's genuinely accessible, supportive and grounded in experience.

It's a reminder that there are multiple routes to qualification, and that learning on the job, with the right guidance, can be just as powerful as traditional study alone.

Well done again Amelia!
