Today, we were honoured to welcome back Bedian clergy for a special Mass of Thanksgiving for Vocations, celebrated on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations.

For 150 years, St Bede’s College has been a place where faith, learning and service come together. Throughout that time, the College has nurtured more than 500 vocations to the priesthood and religious life, making today’s celebration a particularly meaningful opportunity to give thanks for this remarkable legacy.

Our Chapel was filled with pupils, staff, clergy and guests, creating a wonderful sense of faith, pride and community as generations of Bedians came together to celebrate the enduring values at the heart of College life.

Following Mass, we were delighted to welcome our clergy guests to the Joseph Refectory for lunch, where they shared stories, memories and reflections on their time at St Bede’s, reconnecting with fellow Bedians and members of our school community.

As we continue to celebrate our 150th anniversary year, occasions such as these serve as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of a Bedian education and the strength of the bonds that connect generations of former pupils.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion.

Once a Bedian, always a Bedian.

The entire Bedian community would like to wish our former pupils the very best of luck as they represent their nations at the FIFA World Cup.

A Warm Bedian Welcome to Our New Upper Third Pupils

Today, we were delighted to welcome our new Upper Third pupils for their induction day ahead of joining St Bede’s College this September.

Whilst there were certainly a few nervous faces as pupils arrived this morning, it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces leaving at the end of the day after a fantastic introduction to life at St Bede’s.

Throughout the day, pupils had the opportunity to meet their Heads of House and Form Tutors, take part in lessons, explore the College, make new friends, and begin building the confidence and connections that will support them as they start their Bedian journey.

A particularly special moment was gathering together for their first Mass as a year group in our Chapel, reflecting the faith, community and values that sit at the heart of College life.

We are incredibly excited to welcome each and every one of them back in September and look forward to watching them grow, thrive and make their mark as part of our Bedian family.

We can’t wait to see you all again in September. 💙

AESG Transition Day | Wednesday 17th June 2026

Considering a move to St Bede’s College for September 2026 entry?

We understand that changing schools can feel like a big step. Our AESG Transition Day has been designed to help pupils feel confident, supported and excited about the next chapter of their education.

On Wednesday 17th June, parents and their daughters are warmly invited to join us from 9:15am for a welcome from our Headteacher, Mrs Maria Kemp, followed by a guided tour of the College. After the tour, pupils will stay with us for the remainder of the school day until 3:50pm, giving them the opportunity to experience life at St Bede’s, meet future classmates and take part in lessons and activities.

During the day, pupils will:

• Meet new friends
• Experience lessons and activities
• Explore our College and facilities
• Learn about our pastoral support
• Build confidence for September

Since the proposed closure was announced, we have already welcomed a number of AESG pupils into the St Bede’s community, who are thriving both academically and socially. We are committed to ensuring every pupil feels supported, valued and confident as they take their next steps.

St Bede’s College Netball Season Recap 2025/26 🏐

After more than 90 fixtures since September and over 120 pupils representing the College, the netball season has come to a fantastic close.

Across local leagues, tournaments, festivals, county competitions, cup matches and friendlies, our pupils have shown outstanding teamwork, resilience and commitment, while building confidence and friendships along the way.

A particular highlight was the Manchester Schools Knockout Cup Play-Offs on Thursday, 7 May, where our U12, U13, U14 and U15 A teams all represented the College brilliantly. The U12s won their semi-final against Wright Robinson 18-5 before a closely fought final against Withington saw them finish as runners-up. The U13s also reached the final after a 14-8 semi-final win against Parrs Wood, battling hard against Wright Robinson to also finish as runners-up.

There was further success for the U14s and U15s, who both responded superbly after their semi-finals to secure bronze medals. The U14s beat Wright Robinson B 11-7, while the U15s defeated Co-op Belle Vue 22-6.

Other season highlights include the Prep A team winning the AJIS Bowl Competition, the U12A team being crowned Manchester Under 12 Champions, the U13A team winning the Tier 1 Manchester League, and the U16 team reaching the Sisters ‘n’ Sport Trophy Finals at Loughborough University, where they brought home bronze. A huge congratulations also goes to Sophie C, who was awarded Player of the Tournament.

Thank you to every pupil who has taken part this season. You have represented St Bede’s with pride, determination and spirit.

✨ Strictly Bede’s 2026 ✨

Our annual staff dance competition returned to the Academic Hall in spectacular style, with an evening full of energy, creativity, and unforgettable performances.
A huge well done to Mrs McCormick, Miss Archer-Zeff, Mr Fletcher, Mrs Yearley, Mr Rees, and Mr Murugathas, who all took to the floor with brilliant routines and plenty of Strictly sparkle.
After an incredibly close competition, congratulations go to this year’s champion, Mr Rees, who scored a perfect 40 points!
Thank you to everyone who made this event such a resounding success. We are already looking forward to next year!

Prep 4 had an unforgettable overnight residential at Winmarleigh Hall!
From challenge courses and problem-solving tasks to survival skills, zipwires, and the vertical challenge, the children threw themselves into every activity with courage, enthusiasm, and a brilliant sense of adventure.
It was wonderful to see them step out of their comfort zones, grow in independence and resilience, and make special memories with their friends. Their behaviour was exemplary throughout, and they were a real credit to St Bede’s.
We are incredibly proud of every pupil for their bravery, teamwork, and supportive spirit. What an adventure!
