Applications are now open for the first cohort of the Pharmacist Enhanced Practice Pathway.

Developed and delivered collaboratively by NHS England, CPPE and the Royal College of Pharmacy, this fully funded national pilot is designed for newly qualified pharmacists who join the register as independent prescribers and provide NHS services.

Through workplace learning, online modules, workshops, an e-Portfolio and educational support, the pathway will help you:
- build confidence in prescribing
- strengthen your clinical decision making
- develop your practice while managing increasingly complex patient care.

If your employer is unable to provide an educational supervisor, CPPE-provided supervision is available for eligible learners.
Places are limited and applications may close early if the cohort is full. Apply by 31 October 2026:

Menopause consultations don’t always come with a clear-cut answer. How confident are you “working in the grey”?

Join us in Kingston for the CPPE Menopause: prescribing perspectives workshop and develop your confidence in taking a structured, safe and person-centred approach to menopause consultations.

Through a realistic consultation scenario, practical activities and discussion with colleagues, the workshop will explore clinical assessment and reasoning, shared decision-making, consultation skills, effective documentation and peer support.

Whether you are already an independent prescriber, preparing to prescribe in the future, or a pharmacist, pharmacy technician or trainee pharmacist who supports people with menopause symptoms and medicines, the workshop is designed to support you wherever you are on that journey.

Meningitis B can develop very quickly and is particularly serious for young adults starting university, especially when they’re moving into shared accommodation. With thousands of students preparing for the new academic year, it’s reassuring to see that community pharmacies will now be able to offer the MenB vaccine to Year 13 students and freshers.

This added access point means young people can get protected more easily and conveniently, helping reduce the risk of outbreaks and keeping students safer as they begin their university journey.
