Today is United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It’s a chance for us all to reflect on how we can make society more inclusive, by considering practical steps toward greater accessibility and equity.
Pharmacy professionals are perfectly placed to recognise and address the barriers that people with disabilities face when trying to access the care they need. See how CPPE can support you in lifting these barriers - https://www.cppe.ac.uk/news/a/1067/international-day-of-persons-with-disabilities

What is leadership? What three words would you use to describe the skills, characteristics and behaviours of a leader?
That's a question we ask participants before joining the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's Pharmacy leaders development programme. The word cloud below illustrates the thoughts of a recent cohort. What words jump out at you? compassionate? inclusive? collaborative? integrity?
Do you see these behaviours play out in your workplace or do you experience something very different? We know what good looks like but too often in the workplace, we get to see what bad looks like.
The NHS and the pharmacy profession need strong leaders to take forward the changes proposed in the NHS ten year plan. Do you want to learn to lead with compassion and integrity? Do you want to be collaborative and inclusive?
If so, the CPhO Pharmacy leaders development programme is for you. Cohort 10 of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's Pharmacy leaders development programme is now open for applications to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in all sectors.
You can learn more about this innovative programme on the CPPE website https://www.cppe.ac.uk/skills/pharmacy-leaders
You can also register for the NHS England webinar on Thursday 4th September 1 - 2pm where you will hear from Richard Cattell, Liz Fidler, Samantha White and alumni from previous cohorts, Teena Bhogal and Phoebe Davis
