βI wish Iβd never stopped training.β
Itβs something we hear often, and itβs completely understandable. Life happens β work, school, family, injuries β and suddenly, your gi is gathering dust in the wardrobe. The weeks turn into months, and then years.
But hereβs the truth: the hardest step is walking back into the dojo.
You can always come back.
It doesnβt matter if itβs been weeks or years. It doesnβt matter if youβre βnot fit enoughβ or worried youβve forgotten everything. All that matters is that you take that first step.
Your gi is waiting. The dojo is waiting. And so are we.
I know first hand just how hard it is but trust me when I say stepping foot back into the dojo is always the hardest but you won't regret it.
Drop me a WhatsApp message on 07521242513 or go do www.hulmekarateclub.co.uk, and weβll help you get started again.

RIP Sensei Denis! I have fond memories of squad training in Altrincham with Sensei Denis thank you rest easy π₯πͺ
It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Denis Casey Sensei, 9th Dan Hanshi, who left us on 9th February 2026.
Denis Sensei was a cornerstone of our karate family, a leader who dedicated his life to the art of Karate-do. His wisdom, integrity, and passion shaped countless students and instructors over the decades. He was not only a master of technique but also of character, leaving an indelible mark on our entire association.
Our deepest sympathies go to his family and all who knew him. We will honor his memory by continuing his legacy and upholding the values he lived by.
We will share details of future commemorations soon. Until then, we reflect with gratitude on the gift of having walked alongside him.
Rest in peace, Sensei.
