Sylvan House, we don't start with a plan and expect children to fit it. We start with what children are curious about, what captures their attention, what makes them wonder, what they want to explore. And we build from there. πŸ’›

When you follow a child's genuine interests, something shifts. They become more engaged, more confident, more willing to try. Learning doesn't feel like instruction, it feels like play. Like discovery. Like joy.

We keep things simple. Seasonal. Natural. A basket of leaves becomes a lesson in texture and exploration. Puddles become early science. A quiet moment with soil and seeds becomes where responsibility takes root. There's no need for complicated activities when you're truly listening to what children need.

What parents tell us is this: their child comes alive here. They talk about nursery at home. They ask to come back. They're not just attending an activity, they're following their own curiosity with adults who genuinely understand that this is where real learning happens.

If you're looking for a nursery that sees your child as an individual, that nurtures their interests and celebrates who they're becoming, we'd love to meet you. 🌿

Your child deserves a nursery that truly understands them. 🌿

At Sylvan House, we've built something special. A place where outdoor learning isn't an add-on, it's woven into everything we do. Your child will spend time in spaces that inspire exploration, curiosity, and genuine discovery. Puddles, leaves, nature, they become the teacher.

But it's more than beautiful outdoor areas. We're rooted in our community. We build real connections with the families and spaces around us, so your child doesn't just learn in isolation, they belong to something bigger. They see how the world works. They understand their place in it.

Our nurturing approach means every child is known, every voice is heard, and learning happens through play, exploration, and genuine connection. We don't just care for your child. We grow them.

Sylvan House. Where outdoor spaces, community, and genuine care create the foundation for confident, curious children. πŸ’›

When children learn about the solar eclipse, they're not just observing a celestial event they're learning to notice patterns, ask questions, and understand that the world is far bigger and more wondrous than they realised. ✨

Our team has been talking with the children about what happens when the moon moves in front of the sun, watching shadows shift, noticing the light change. Some are curious and wondering aloud. Some are feeling a little nervous about the darkness. All of it is valuable.

These moments are when children's eyes widen and their minds stretch toward something they can't quite explain, these are where real learning lives. Behind every question is a child developing resilience, building confidence in their own thinking, and learning that it's safe to be curious about big things.

Because when a child feels safe to wonder, they become a lifelong learner. 🀍

Graduation 2026 πŸŽ“

What an honour to celebrate our children stepping confidently into their next chapter. πŸ’›

But graduation is about so much more than a milestone.

✨ Recognising who they've become.

✨ The resilience they've discovered.

✨ The connections they've nurtured.

✨ The curiosity and self-belief woven into who they are.

As they move forward to school, they carry these gifts with them. They know how to feel grounded in new spaces. How to ask questions. How to keep trying.

Because they've been truly known by adults who saw their possibilities.

That foundation opens doors. πŸ’›πŸ–€

Thank you to our families and to Natalie and the Sylvan House team for making this day unforgettable.

We can't wait to follow their journeys πŸ€—

There's something magical about a shell in a child's hand. 🐚

A smooth curve. A spiral that tells a story. Tiny ridges and patterns waiting to be discovered.

When children explore shells, they're doing so much more than playing. They're learning texture and shape. They're asking questions, where did it come from? How was it made? What lived inside?

They're developing the curiosity that becomes scientific thinking. The attention to detail that builds focus. The wonder that keeps learning alive.

Nature's simplest treasures often teach the deepest lessons.✨

What makes a scientist? Curiosity. What makes an engineer? Problem-solving. What makes an artist? Courage to experiment. ✨

Your child doesn't need a lab coat or a special lesson to develop these skills. They need space to wonder, time to experiment, and adults who ask good questions.

That's STEAM at Sylvan House πŸͺ„

When children splash in puddles, they're experimenting with physics. When they sort objects by colour and size, they're thinking mathematically. When they design a den from cushions and blankets, they're engineering. When they mix paint or arrange natural materials, they're creating with intention. When they ask 'what if?' and 'why?' that's the real work happening.

We don't separate STEAM into tidy boxes. It flows through sand play, block building, outdoor exploration, creative making, and problem-solving together. Our team notices where the learning is, and we build on it.

Your child is becoming a thinker, a maker, and an explorer. Every single day. ✨

When a child rolls a ball down the ramp, something magical happens. They're not just playing, they're discovering cause and effect. Their action creates a result. They notice. They try again. They're building the foundation for all future learning.

Every day at Sylvan House, our team creates moments like this. We slow down. We notice what children are curious about. We support their discoveries with materials, space, and our presence.

Small moments. Big development ✨

Sustainability isn't something we do once a term. It's woven into everything. ✨

At Sylvan House, we're committed to raising children who understand their place in the world, and who grow up caring for it.

That means choosing plastic-free wherever we can. It means reaching for natural resources and letting children discover what these materials can do. It means spending real time outdoors, not as a break from learning, but as the heart of it. Because children who spend time in nature don't just learn about the environment, they develop a connection to it that lasts.

When children play with natural materials, they're problem-solving, building resilience, and developing fine and gross motor skills. When they spend time outside, they're learning that growth happens in seasons, that nature teaches patience, and that they belong in the world around them.

Sustainability isn't a topic we teach. It's a way we live, together. πŸ’š

Where children truly belong ✨

Friendships don't just happen by accident. They grow in spaces where children feel safe enough to be themselves.

At Sylvan House, we create those spaces intentionally. Our team knows that before a child can learn, explore or grow, they need to feel they belong. That they matter. That their voice is heard.

Watch our children together. You'll see friendships forming, real connections, not forced groupings.

✨ A child feeling unsure finds someone who makes them smile.

✨ A child with an idea finds others who want to build on it.

✨ A child who's quiet finds space to join in at their own pace.

These bonds matter. They're not just nice to have, they're foundational. Children with strong friendships develop confidence. They take more risks because they have someone beside them. They're kinder, more resilient, more curious about the world.

Behind every friendship at Sylvan House is a team that's actively creating the conditions for connection. We notice when a child needs support joining in. We celebrate when friendships deepen. We ensure every voice is heard, whether that's through words, gestures, or quiet observation.

Safety isn't just physical. It's emotional. It's knowing that adults see you, respect you, and believe you belong exactly as you are.

In our nurturing environment, children aren't just cared for. They're valued. They're respected. They're home.

That's where true happiness grows. πŸ’›
