We are delighted to share that 41 of our law students feature on the 2026 Clinical Legal Education Recognition List published this week.
 
Mirroring the Pro Bono Recognition List for the profession, and supported by the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee, the Student Clinical Legal Education Recognition List celebrates law students across England and Wales who have volunteered 25 hours or more through their law school clinic or programme to provide free legal advice or assistance to individuals, charities or community groups.

Advice clinics at law schools and related programmes make a significant and lasting contribution to communities by providing free legal assistance and providing guidance on legal rights and responsibilities. We are delighted to celebrate our students’ contributions to helping those in need of free legal assistance.

✨ What a fantastic turnout at our Legal Careers and Pro Bono Fair yesterday! ✨

It was wonderful to see so many of our students engaging with the fair, exploring opportunities and discovering more about the range of pro bono activities available within the Law School.

The fair provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the experiences and opportunities students may encounter as they take the next steps in their legal careers, while highlighting the importance of pro bono work within the legal profession.

A huge thank you to all our business partners who joined us, shared their expertise and helped inspire the next generation of legal professionals. 👏
Finally, a special thank you to Nick Touati and Emma Goodwin for all their hard work in organising and delivering another successful event!

A reminder to this year’s graduates that the final Fast Track to Masters application window closes on Sunday 2 August. This is your last opportunity to apply through the Fast Track scheme before postgraduate study begins in September.

Many congratulations to students Veron, Lucy, Dorcas, and Martin on winning the GRAILS 2026 competition in Denmark! 🎉

GRAILS (Global Responsible AI League for Students) is an annual international competition that challenges students to develop AI solutions focused on ethical, responsible, and sustainable impact. The team developed SkinSight, a responsible AI project designed to improve access to skin health support through ethical and accessible technology.

Being crowned the Grand Winners is an incredible achievement and we couldn’t be prouder of the team’s innovation and hard work.

A special thank you to Chiranjeewa Atapattu (Senior Lecturer and Faculty COIL Lead) for coaching and supporting the team, and to Andy Su (Systems, Data and AI Lead, Everbright Group Hotels) for his industry insight and mentorship throughout the journey. 👏

Our next Manchester Law School free legal clinic is on Thursday 30 April.

How does it work? And, why is it free?

Our legal clinics are an opportunity for our law students to gain real experience, and to provide our local community with support that can make a big difference to their business.

At this legal clinic, our students will be working under the guidance of Addleshaw Goddard LLP commercial lawyers. They’re providing the support pro-bono (for free).
