This week is Anti-bullying week, Social Sense brought “RUDifferent?” To Harrop Fold students a few years ago.
The aim of this intervention was to change cultural norms, creating new visibility of positive attitudes and behaviours often overlooked in terms of favour of negative awareness bias. Our approach to this was inspired by years of academic research from Wes Perkins and Alan Berkowitz and in particular evidence based social norming bystander interventions, which we later adapted to measurably change attitudes on domestic abuse.

We were completely blown away by the creativity and talents that we saw the other week during our enterprise days at the schools we attended. One person who really stood out to us was Dylan at Harpurhey Alternative Provision School.

Dylan wrote this rap himself inspired by his own previous experiences and performed it for us. We had to share!

Angel at Our Lady's RC High School wrote a poem as part of her campaign for "RUDifferent" where we agreed on tasks to raise awareness surrounding community safety.

We loved the creativity and the message behind the poem. Well done to everyone! The result from all students was amazing.

The UniversityofSalford have today released an academic paper evidencing the effectiveness of our programme.
