Kiddiewinkles

We've had a fabulous four days at Kiddiewinkles Holiday Club with lots of fun and games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, making loombands, baking cakes, exploring play dough and sooooo much more 😀. And what better way to finish the week than a trip to Barton airport. We enjoyed watching the planes and helicopters flying in and out, playing in the play area, we had a lovely picnic and we enjoyed a few games of tag and duck duck goose.

Happy Half Term everyone!
We have had an amazing last day of term enjoying the sunshine in the morning and cooling down in the room this afternoon.

We've had lots of tower creating with blocks and magnets, lots of jumping from different apparatus, and plenty of digging and exploring in the mud. We also had lots of bouncy fun using the Yoga balls, taking turn to bounce or roll 💙

Our small tuff trays were filled with jelly today (child and vegetarian friendly) that the children explored with tools and their hands to discover what was hiding inside.

We hope you all have an amazing week off and we will see you all on the 1st June when we return 💙

Today at Kiddiewinkles Urmston we took advantage of the lovely sunshine and went out to the park. The children slid down the slides, got dizzy on the roundabout, climbed up the netting, and balanced across the stepping stones; then we had brioche and oranges before going for a little walk round the pond and heading back to playgroup.

The children were so well behaved and really used their listening ears. Well done Kiddiewinkles gang, and we'll see you after the holidays! ⭐

Thursdays Photos 😊

We set sail in pirate ships yesterday! Keeping in theme with our Pirate activities, we set up an area for the children with lots of different boxes and tubs so they could use their imagination to create pirate ships! They had so much fun doing this, figuring out how they'd fit in the boats, could their friends join them or would they have to swim with the sea creatures!

Outside the children carried on with pirate play independently, searching for treasure in the mud, setting off in groups to battle with sharks, and running away from other pirates 💙 We have really enjoyed being pirates this week 💙
We also made an exciting discovery! A little bird has started making a nest between our water buckets! We are hoping it comes back to finish the job 💙

One of our friends is very interested in height at the moment, so this morning we took turns measuring each other with string! This was a great way of practicing tall, taller, and tallest.

We also had the teapots out, one of the children's favourite ever activities: there was a lovely lemony smell from the teabags, although some of our sleeves got a bit soggy! 🫖🍋

Wednesday at Kiddiewinkles has been full of fun as always 💙
Today we had a go at making our own pirate hats and telescopes! The children got creative decorating their hats and then set off around the room on pirate adventures!
We have also been bug hunting in the room. We used magnifying glasses to search the tuff tray and discover lots of different creatures.

Outside the children enjoyed running around burning lots of energy off. Sarah helped make wind twirlers and the children ran up and down watching them blow in the wind 💙

Yesterday we continued our Pirate play as the children are loving being pirates this week!
We switched our tuff tray up to create a beach for our pirates to explore. The boats were used to sail to shore and find the treasure 😊
As we had a birthday this week, the children have been back making birthday cakes in the play doh area complete with lots of birthday candles for blowing out 💙

Some of the children noticed music being played in the distance yesterday afternoon, so we decided to have a music session of our own. We let the children choose their own instrument to play and we explored all of the different sounds we could make 💙

Today the children have had even more energy than usual! Their favourite thing to do has been simply running around in the garden, being good guys and bad guys, superheroes, and racing each other.

We've also been building lots with the magna tiles, popping bubbles with Kelly, tipping and pouring with a pine cone tuff tray.

In the afternoon we have been playing dentist 🦷, drawing round animals and shapes, making long tunnels, playing hide and seek throwing bean bags, seeing how high we can throw i teddies up in the air and lots more ♥️ think all the Kiddiewinkles will be tired tonight 😴😅

What a great morning we have had, splashing in puddles, watching the hailstone fall from the sky and pulling each other on the sledges. After the downpour of rain everything had got wet so we used the towels to dry them.
Inside we have been building enclosures for the animals with duplo.
