Art for Art's Sake: Didsbury painting & drawing class

Art for Art's Sake: Didsbury painting & drawing class A painting and drawing class suitable for all levels of ability. Whether you are a prolific artist o What do I need to bring with me?

This class is primarily for pleasure and aims to assist in sustaining health and wellbeing as well as accumulating a portfolio of artwork. You will be offered a project which will result in a body of work to take away with you. If you want to work on your own topics other than the project set, support will be offered as best possible. You will be encouraged to work with a range of media and build on expertise to try various techniques. In the first term there will be two visits to alternative venues where you'll have the opportunity to sketch/draw. The drawings produced will be used to inform work produced at The Parsonage. Your tutor is a highly experienced, qualified teacher who has also worked in industry, freelanced as a designer and is a practising Artist. You are advised to have a basic range of art materials e.g. 2B, 6B pencils, charcoal, fine line pen, set of brushes, acrylic and/or watercolour paints, an artist's palette, an old shirt. There will be some materials provided. You will need to provide your own paper and it is recommended to have an A1 or A2 portfolio. This will depend on the size of work you aim to produce.
