Hope everyone has had a lovely summer holiday break. Tomorrow sees the start of the Autumn term for staff in school as it's our inset day and we are really looking forward to seeing the children return on Tuesday morning at 8.45am.
It has been a busy summer with some big changes in school and I know staff are really excited to show your children all the work they have done in their classrooms.
Office staff will be available in the afternoon tomorrow for any queries you have.

We would like to say a MASSIVE THANKYOU to the Fielden family for all their help today. Especially to Neil, who has built our new play platform and our cube climbing station - without instructions! It was a big task and he did an amazing job. What an absolute super star โญ โญ โญ. We still have a few smaller items to assemble together and are looking for helpers again next Thursday from about 10am onwards (29/08/24).

22/08/2024

We had a number of people offer to help us build our play equipment when we first posted about it but we only have one person who has committed to actually help us tomorrow. We really need more people. Please, please come along and give us some support - even if you can only spare an hour or two. You don't need to be a builder, as long as you can handle a screw driver you will definitely be able to help us.

21/08/2024

We still need more helpers on Friday. Please contact us or comment below if you can give us some time.

Calling all budding Bob (or Wendy) the builders! Are you a handy person who likes to build things? Do you enjoy assembling items? We recently posted asking for your help to assemble some of our new, large outdoor play equipment. Thank you to those who got in contact to volunteer their time.
I can confirm we will be having our volunteer building day on Friday 23rd August (this Friday) from 9am onwards for the whole day.
Please come along to school and help us if you can.
If you have your own tool box PLEASE bring it along with you as we will need lots of screwdrivers, hammers, spanners and battery operated drills as well as spare screws, nails, bolts and nuts.
We really want to get these large pieces assembled ready for September so the children can play on them.
Whether you can give us an hour, half a day or the whole day we really need your support. Please note all volunteer helpers MUST be over 18.
Please DM us if you are available on Friday to confirm you can help and I'll make sure we have plenty of tea, coffee and refreshments to hand!
Please share this post within the local community.

A message to Parents - Carers
From Mrs Mc
Just a quick update to say that I finally used my Theatre Voucher that you so kindly got for me when I retired earlier in the year - I took my Mum and Nephew to see 101 Dalmatians at the Palace theatre in Manchester last Friday - it was a brilliant production and I had a really good time - so a big thank you to you all - and it is one for me to remember as it came from all your generosity ๐Ÿ˜€

Calling all our super parents! Are you good at assembling furniture? Do you like building things? We have a LOT of wooden play activity items to assemble over the next few weeks and could really do with some help. We are hoping to gather together a team of parents to help build these items. If you think this is something you can offer help with, please speak to Mrs Hill so we can organise some dates and times to get everyone together.

Year 2 have had an amazing day at Ordsall Hall learning all about how people lived in Tudor times. We have dressed up, played games, searched for Henry the infamous rat and had a picnic lunch in the orchard, enjoying the beautiful weather! What a lovely day! โ˜€๏ธHere are some photos from the day, more will be added to Seesaw later!

If you are looking for something fun to do in the summer holidays, Ordsall Hall have lots of history based activities for you to take part in together. I will leave a link below!
