🌟 Celebrating an Historic Achievement 🌟
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the incredible success of Kathryn Kay, who has become the first student to complete her Licence on the non-affiliated Dalcroze UK programme 🎉👏
Kathryn is a viola player, accompanist, and inspiring educator, currently teaching Dalcroze Eurhythmics at the Royal College of Music. Since first discovering Dalcroze during her PGCE, she has built a rich and varied career, working with students of all ages and sharing her work internationally 🌍🎶
Balancing the chalenging demands of the Licence alongside professional and family life, Kathryn has shown remarkable dedication, resilience, and passion. Her achievement is not only a reflection of her exceptional skill and talent, but also of her generosity and commitment to the Dalcroze community 💙
Kathryn has been a source of inspiration to so many, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with her. We can’t wait to see what comes next! ✨
Please join us in congratulating Kathryn on this outstanding achievement 👏🎉

🎻✨ Join us for our next Zoom Café ☕💻 with the brilliant Monica Wilkinson!
🎶 Topic: Using Dalcroze to Develop String Ensemble Skills with 7–10 Year Olds
When Monica set up the youngest orchestra in the National Youth String Orchestra, she took a bold approach—ditching sheet music and putting the body at the centre of music-making. In this lively session, she’ll share how Dalcroze and Kodály-inspired techniques help young musicians build strong skills through movement, listening, and embodied learning.
✨ You’ll discover how:
🎵 Pulse, rhythm & phrasing come alive through movement
🎻 Ensemble skills can be developed away from instruments
💡 Physical awareness supports healthy, confident playing
🌱 A thriving orchestra grew using these creative methods
👤 About Monica: A specialist in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Monica is a Lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and works with the National Youth String Orchestra, directing its Sinfonietta programme. Her experience spans the UK and internationally, alongside collaborations with Playground Proms and Sistema Scotland.

🎄 A time to reflect, celebrate & say thank you ✨
As we look back on 2025, there is so much to celebrate. It’s been a whirlwind year — and above all, a year of community. 💙
For the first time, our community came together to fundraise for Dalcroze UK, helping 110 children discover the joy of Dalcroze 🎶✨ It’s not too late to support future generations — donations are still welcome via our crowdfunding page.

Our adult and student community also came together at a vibrant and successful Spring Course at the RNCM, where experienced Dalcrozians warmly welcomed new students and members on their Dalcroze journey. 🎉 Huge congratulations to all the dedicated students who completed their training with us in 2025!
This year, we were delighted to welcome five new talented and committed Trustees to the Dalcroze UK Board, helping to guide our work into the future. 🙌 We are also deeply grateful to the teaching team supporting the development of Dalcroze Eurhythmics in the UK — with exciting progress in teaching practice and new ways to access Dalcroze, from Discover Days to microlearning. More to come! 🚀
A special thank you to those who keep everything running behind the scenes — from development to finances, communications, and programme management. Your commitment, creativity, and care make everything possible. 💐
📅 Christmas Office Closure
The Dalcroze UK office will be closed from Monday 22 December and will reopen on Monday 5 January 2026.
For now, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our community for your support, membership, engagement, and dedication to Dalcroze Eurhythmics. 💙
🎁 Wishing you all a restful, peaceful, and happy holiday season — with warm wishes from everyone at Dalcroze UK.
