Shulan College wishes everyone a Happy Dragon Boat Festival!🌸
The Dragon Boat Festival is not only about dragon boat racing—it’s also a time to enjoy zongzi (traditional sticky rice dumplings)!🌹
Interestingly, zongzi itself can be considered a form of medicinal cuisine in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The leaves used to wrap zongzi—typically reed leaves, bamboo leaves, or lotus leaves—are believed to help clear heat, promote body fluids, relieve restlessness, support detoxification, and aid urinary health. However, because the glutinous rice filling can be relatively difficult to digest, it is recommended to enjoy zongzi with Pu-erh tea, green tea, or a hawthorn and smoked plum herbal drink to support digestion.⭐️

Shulan College Summer Sun Protection Diet Tips
As summer arrives, Shulan College recommends three foods that can help support sun protection:
Tomatoes 🌹
Rich in lycopene, they help reduce damage to the skin caused by ultraviolet rays. They are more effective when cooked (e.g., tomato soup or scrambled eggs with tomatoes).
Blueberries 🌸
They have strong antioxidant properties, helping to combat free radicals produced after sun exposure and slow down skin aging.
Carrots ⭐️
They contain beta-carotene, which helps improve the skin’s tolerance to sunlight and is also beneficial for overall skin health.
