Many organisations are motivated to cut carbon emissions but struggle to turn awareness into consistent, organisation-wide action. Staff often lack the confidence to identify carbon savings, and even when motivation exists, it doesn’t always translate into measurable change.
Sustainability Lead at Freedom Leisure UK, Jennifer Barton, will join us at our upcoming webinar to share how Carbon Literacy has been embedded across a 6,000-strong workforce, with training delivered at all levels of the organisation.
The outcomes demonstrate what happens when learning becomes action:
✅+15% increase in confidence to identify carbon savings ✅Motivation to act rose from 65% to 96%
✅12.2% reduction in energy consumption (2025–2026)
✅221.2 tonnes CO₂e saved
From awareness to action. From training to measurable impact.
Join us to find out how Carbon Literacy is enabling organisations to turn ambition into results.

Every logistics decision, from transport to warehousing to supply chains, carries a carbon cost. For commercial teams, that creates a constant tension: how do you continue to grow business performance while actively reducing emissions?
Following the Carbon Literacy training, Duncan Butler, General Manager, Business Development at Kuehne+Nagel, has committed to embedding sustainability into the decisions he can influence most in customer conversations, bid strategy, and transport choices.
He has pledged to accelerate the shift away from diesel by prioritising electric vehicles and low-emission transport, with a commitment that all future company cars will be electric.
He is also bringing sustainability earlier into client discussions and sales presentations, ensuring it shapes value-led decisions rather than appearing as an afterthought. This includes embedding a clear and relevant sustainability component into every bid, directly aligned to the proposed logistics solution.
“Carbon Literacy training was deeply troubling, leading me to question and challenge both my personal impact but also that of my work. I left the training focussed on doing “my bit” to drive change and improving “my impact” on the areas I can influence, rather than the enormity of the entire global consequence.
Focussing on sustainable solutions, I have been successful in winning a parts warehousing contract for exciting new Chinese EV car brand Changan. Each new car we support potentially saves 120g CO2 a year over its petrol equivalent. I'm very proud to be part of their journey.”
These commitments show how commercial roles in logistics can directly influence emissions, turning everyday decisions on transport, partnerships, and client strategy into practical actions that embed sustainability across the supply chain.

We’re excited that Alanna Kirwan, Solutions Manager at The Guardian, is joining us as a speaker for our Impact Report launch.
As a certified Carbon Literacy learner, Alanna has turned knowledge into action through a powerful personal pledge: to avoid working with clients with high environmental impact. Alongside this, she is actively raising awareness among other members of her advertising agency about their ability to influence consumer behaviour.
Her story shows how individual decisions in professional roles can influence wider thinking. What starts as one informed decision can ripple outward, driving change across teams, organisations, and even the wider industry.
Join The Carbon Literacy Project as we launch our latest Impact Report, sharing an evidence-based picture of how Carbon Literacy drives change – from individual action through to organisational and sector-wide impact.
