hen we talk about what matters in life, so often it’s people.
Our friends. Our family. Our partners. The people we’ve worked alongside for years.
But life gets busy. We meet new people, make new friends, our lives change — and sometimes, without anybody actually deciding it, relationships drift.
And I think there are some relationships we have to consciously choose to keep.
I said to Paul this week, “We have to keep choosing each other.”
Not once. Not because we got married. But actually choosing to stay connected to each other.
And I think that’s true of friendships too.
Sometimes people drift because that relationship has run its course — and maybe there are times when we need to consciously let that happen.
But sometimes someone who really matters has just quietly slipped further away.
So maybe have a think today:
Is there someone who matters to you that you need to consciously choose again?
Send the message. Make the call. Arrange the coffee.
Because when people matter, sometimes we have to choose not to let life get in the way.
Or be brave and send this to soemone you would love to catch up with soon - because you miss them xx
