There’s something so special about watching little ones discover the magic of a story. Our toddlers love The Gruffalo- turning pages, looking closely at the pictures and beginning to connect words, sounds and meaning.

📚 From a young age, sharing books helps children develop their language, communication and imagination, while building a love of stories that can last a lifetime. Even simply holding a book, noticing the pictures and hearing familiar words is an important part of becoming a confident little reader.

A huge well done to one of our amazing apprentices, Ella! 💕 Ella has taken on a new role in our 18–24 month room and has been absolutely amazing.

She always goes above and beyond, brings such a positive attitude and gives her very best every day. We’re so proud of you, Ella! 🥰👏✨

Our little chefs have been busy in the mud kitchen, creating their very own playdough pizzas! 🌿✨

From making the playdough, rolling out the dough to choosing their toppings, the children let their imaginations take the lead. Some went for classic favourites, while others created some very interesting (and very creative!) combinations! 😂🍕

Mud kitchen play is such a lovely way for preschoolers to explore imagination, mathematics, creativity, language and social skills- all while enjoying the freedom to get stuck into their own ideas.

Who needs a real pizza oven when you have a mud kitchen and a little imagination? 🤎🍕🌱

🪞✨ Did you know? Mirrors are a wonderful tool for babies’ self-exploration!

When babies look at themselves in a mirror, they’re not just having fun- they’re beginning to explore their own reflection, facial expressions, movements and emotions. 💛

Mirror play can support:

👶 Self-awareness: helping babies become familiar with their own face and body
🧠 Cognitive development : encouraging curiosity, observation and discovery
😊 Emotional development: exploring different facial expressions and emotions
👀 Visual development: encouraging babies to focus, track and follow movements
💬 Communication skills: giving little ones opportunities to babble, smile and interact with their reflection

🌞🌑 Exploring the wonders of space ✨

Inspired by the recent solar eclipse, our nursery embraced a space-themed learning experience across all rooms. The children took part in a variety of engaging activities designed to encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration as they discovered more about the sun, moon and wider universe.

From art and sensory play to investigations and imaginative experiences, the eclipse provided a wonderful opportunity to extend the children’s learning through a topic that captured their interest. 🚀🪐
