Our final BHM icon is real Yardie Kadeena Cox OBE🇯🇲💪🏾

Kadeena is a paralympian with multiple sclerosis, competing in athletics AND cycling and has won multiple medals including 2 golds and 2 silvers. She was the first person since 1984 to win 2 gold medals in 2 different sports.

She started her cycling academy to encourage more people from BAME backgrounds into cycling. She felt as though cycling was seen as a ‘white middle-class’ sport and believes that there needs to be more representation.

As she is a part-time wheelchair user, she has faced criticism online for ‘faking’ her disability which highlights the lack of education on disabilities as the general public are unaware of hidden disabilities.
