Now the dust is settled a little and I have a spare hour. I think it’s time for this post.

Again this year I’ve been given the great honour to lead Ramsbottom Angling association into the year this year Angling Trust commercial national held at Partrige Lakes over the weekend

We have taken 36 children from the age of 10 up to 20 , 3 different age categories
Cadets 10 to 12 juniors 13 to 15 and youths 16 to 20, we have had 2 teams of 6 in each age category.
I’m not going to go into the full details nor the politics of the weekend I’ll let the results do the talking

In total we have come away with:-
3 Gold Medals 🥇🥇🥇
2 Silver Medals🥈🥈
2 Bronze Medals🥉🥉
And another Fishomania qualified angler with Ted Stuart 🏆🏆
And lots of big smiles from all our children who all enjoyed the weekend!

As you’ll see in the pictures below Ramsbottom Angling association is one big family . ( ) so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every single person that has been a part of not just this weekend but over but the last 12 months and beyond in helping and guiding these children and the club to the success they have achieved themselves without you guys. this wouldn’t happen so myself and the children, are extremely grateful to each and everyone of you thank you,

Again, another personal note to all the children that competed under the Ramsbottom Angling Association banner this weekend I just like to say extremely proud I am of each and every one of you you have work so hard not just on the bank but in the classroom and at home in your preparation I couldn’t be more proud of any of you, your hard work has paid off and will continue to grow and progress in the future with your Angling keep up the excellent work and let’s move onto the next venture .

Iv been a bid behind on post over last few weeks as some don’t want to be on social media, and I respect that .
But Today Iv had young 11year old jimmy who’s not long been fishing , he’s been out fishing for carp on his own , he’s been self taught and as worked extremely hard trying to learn the art of fishing.

So today we have strip back to basics starting on a method feeder , in our 3 hour session we cover bait choices and preparation, we also covered rods and reals , line, hook lengths choices etc,
And spent quite a bit a long time on casting techniques, for such a young lad , he got it in no time , (awesome!). 2 feeders and a snap tip later he had 6 awesome cast and 4 fish in the space of 40 minutes and one lost fish , couldn’t quite manage to net and land and hold the rod at the same time but I’m sure he will master that over the next few weeks , well done jimmy , looking forward to watching your progress over the coming weeks months etc
