What a fabulous turnout for our annual summer fair!

Thank you to everyone who supported us, by donating cakes and toys, buying raffle tickets, volunteering and, showing up despite slightly challenging weather conditions.

More updates later this week around how much we raised and how we'll invest it....watch this space and thanks again.

Don't forget, it's the Big Playground Help Out today from 1pm - 4pm to spruce up our lovely outdoor spaces!

If you're planning to come, please bring a trowel/spade/rake/paintbrush and meet us in the school playground. Use the car park entrance on Longford Rd.

All are welcome.

Don't forget that today's our free family cycling event - head down and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

Join us for a free family cycling event!

The stadium track will be open to Oswald Road Primary School families on Sunday 19 May from 3-4pm.

Bring your own bike or scooter or use the unusual selection of bikes and trikes available at the stadium.

No pre-booking required this is a free event.

We'll welcome any cash/card donations on the day to support Oswald Road PTA fundraising.

We'll also have a tuck shop selling cold drinks and snacks during the event.

Thanks to our skaters, spectators and volunteers for bringing great vibes to Sunday's rollerdisco! We had lots of fun and hope you did too!

Your presence and support made it a very special day indeed and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

What's more, through your generosity, we raised over £2000 in profit on the day, which will go directly into improving the school’s outdoor spaces.

Black Friday is nearly here, and if you’re planning to do a bit of shopping, why not use the www.easyfundraising.org.uk app and help to support the school’s fundraising efforts?

Launched in 2005, easyfundraising counts on 2 million supporters and has raised over £42 million for thousands of causes across the UK. It works with over 7000 brands, who will donate part of what you spend to a cause of your choice. It won't cost you any extra. The cost is covered by the brand.

It’s really easy to use, doesn’t affect your shopping experience at all, and has so far raised almost £4000 for the Oswald Road PTA, which has gone directly back into ongoing improvements to the school’s facilities.

All you need to do is register, choose your cause (in this case it’s FORS - Friends of Oswald Road School), download the app, and start shopping.

We’ve only just caught our breath following a busy couple of weeks, but we are so excited about our Winter Fair 2023!

This will take place on Saturday 9 December from 2:30pm – 6pm in the school hall (with some activities in the school playground) and entry is free.

We are still on the lookout for:

Volunteers: if you can spare an hour in the days leading up to the event or on the day, we’d love to hear from you.

Tombola prizes: we aim to gather around 40 small prizes for our tombola, whether that’s a bottle, a box of chocolates, toys, vouchers or anything else – please drop any donations off to the front office or contact us by email for collection.

Bakers: if you’re a whizz with a whisk then you’re just what we need! We’d love donations to our cake stall and they can be dropped off at the main office the day before or the day of the event. Please, no nuts and labelled with ingredients.

Whoa! What an amazing day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for our school roller disco. We had an absolutely brilliant turnout, and much fun was had by all.

If you didn’t manage to get tickets this time round, then keep your eyes peeled for another event in the new year.

A special shout out to all those who volunteered on the day too – we couldn’t do it without your help!

Exciting news....we've topped the TT Rockstars charts! We are officially the fastest school at times tables among the local 30 schools. We are so proud, as the children have been working really hard for ages, meaning we've been steadily climbing the charts and have now come out on top for the first time!

It took a team of volunteers from the school community, year 6 graduates and family to create this beautiful, green space in memory of Alissia.

A great days work and a moment to reflect for all involved. A massive thank you to everyone involved. We hope the children enjoy & explore their new space

So many plants for tomorrow’s Mini Big Dig!! We’re looking forward to turning our playground into a lovely inviting green oasis for our children. If you can lend a hand tomorrow we’d love to see you! We start at 10am (if you can bring a rake and spade that would be great)

⭐️ Volunteers Needed - Mini Big Dig - Volunteers Needed ⭐️

On Sunday 11 September we are holding a ‘Mini Big Dig’ in the school playground, to develop a memorial garden within the Owl Garden dedicated to Alissia Carroll. We are looking for volunteers to come along and help with gardening and maintenance work from 10-2pm.

Year 6 leavers are welcome to join in the event.

Getting ready for our next PTA gardening challenge. We discovered our very own Ozzy Frog in the pond!!

We are so happy to announce that our Summer Fair raised over £6,000 AMAZING!!

We would like to thank everyone who volunteered on the day, baked cakes and donated toys and books. Without everyone’s passion and commitment we couldn’t of achieved such a great day and raised funds.

We would also like to thank everyone who attended and had so much fun on the day! We can always relay on our brilliant school community.

Our third round of thanks go to the local businesses who supported our Best Summer Ever Raffle.

We hope that everyone enjoys a great summer holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in Sept.
