Manchester Central Grammar School for boys

from Martin site admin : if people want to get in touch with old boys or even want to help with another reunion ( we can still do this at the old Victorian school on Chorlton St ) please reply here. My main interest is leavers before 1972. the pictures here try to capture the look of the school before it became part of the leisure centre. Demographic changes closed the school really. The catchment area just vanished. I bemoan the loss of friendsreunited which sadly has never been properly replaced.

Hello again, we are having another meet of the few on Thursday 18 th this month. We will be at Morrison's Store, Cheadle Heath. Stockport. We normally meet about 11.30 in the small cafe (on the right as you enter the store) have a couple of drinks, then some of us go into the main restaurant for a bite to eat. Would be great to see some new faces attend, there are not many of us left now. MAKE THE EFFORT.

Hello again, to any of us old boys still surviving. Of those of us left well some of us are getting together 15th May. We will be at Morrison's Store, Cheadle Heath Stockport. Research into fate of main building...
... I wanted to open it up to any former pupils for four hours on a Saturday he asked me to outline my plans in an email. He said that this had other implications; ....., but he would have to consider what could be done. I am hopeful about this and have sent said email. I am awaiting his further response. Incidentally, he did mention that the earliest date for demolition would be the end of the calendar year......Malcolm Butcher 07/09/2011
