British Sign Language (BSL) is a language, not simply a collection of gestures.

Our BSL Level 1 course for Under 16s is a great way to learn new signs, make new connections and build confidence — all from the comfort of home! 🏠💻

📚 BSL Topic of the Month: School & Learning 🎓

🤟 BSL Sign of the Day: Alphabet 🔤

To sign “Alphabet” in British Sign Language (BSL), you fingerspell each letter: A, B and C. 🤟

🔤 A: Use your dominant hand with your index finger pointing out. With your non-dominant hand flat, touch your index finger with your thumb.

🔤 B: Use both hands with your fingertips touching your thumbs, then bring your hands together.

🔤 C: Use your dominant hand to make the shape of the letter C.

To sign “Sign” in British Sign Language (BSL), use both hands with all your fingers spread out. Hold your palms facing each other, then move your hands around in a circular motion a few times. 🤟✨
