As our Year 13s prepare for their next chapter 🎓✨
With departure day drawing closer, Alex and Emma at Clydesdale House hosted a special farewell boarders' dinner at Bem Brazil on Deansgate. It was a lovely evening filled with reflection, laughter, and a welcome pause from exam focus—celebrating friendships, memories, and all that lies ahead.

Wishing our Year 13s every success for the future 💫

🔥 Boys’ Cookout Night 🎶🍔
Friday night was one to remember, as Ezra, Alex and Ali hosted a fantastic boys’ cookout! From prepping dinner to cleaning up afterwards, the evening was filled with laughter, teamwork… and some very enthusiastic singalongs to Adele and Imagine Dragons 🎤

It was brilliant to see the boys enjoying themselves so freely; singing at the top of their voices and making the most of the moment. Nights like this really highlight the safe, relaxed environment here, where students can unwind, be themselves, and take a well-earned break from the pressure of exams.

Superabbeystaffmagesticstudentsareprecocious!

The Abbey College Manchester staff-student football match finished approximately 12-12 after a spirited clash of experience and youthful exuberance. ⚽🏃‍♂️🏃🏿

The staff moved the ball well, relying on their greater tactical nous to combat the students’ pace, individual skills and dancing feet. It was a frenetic, end-to-end and side-to-side clash of styles, yielding entertainment for the kop and a stage for the prodigies and legends of Abbey’s footballing elite to show their talents. Credit to all involved for a match of commitment played in the best of spirits.

45 Minutes, 24 goals, one outrageous foul, one lost ball, two ice-creams, sunshine and much fun had by all.😎

Huge congratulations to Dug, Teacher of Maths, on completing an incredible 85-mile cycle challenge around the Scottish Highlands on Sunday morning in support of Cancer Research! 👏

Starting off in sub-zero temperatures but under beautiful blue skies, Dug showed amazing determination from start to finish — and has already raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research.

An outstanding achievement for a fantastic cause. Anyone wishing to donate can via https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/dug-vs-etape-caledonia-for-cancer-research

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

At Abbey College Manchester, we recognise the vital role exercise and green spaces play in supporting positive mental health.

As part of our Thursday Tutor Time, our younger students enjoy a wellbeing walk to a nearby green space—an opportunity to relax, decompress, and spend quality time with friends away from the classroom.

Taking time to pause, connect, and recharge is essential for wellbeing, and we’re proud to make it part of our students’ regular routine. 🌿🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

🌍🎉 Celebrating Sir David Attenborough at 100!

To mark Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, students and staff came together for a special lunchtime celebration in Room 12 organised by Rob Jackson, Sir David superfan, and what a wonderful tribute it was!

The room was filled with everything David Attenborough, including books, DVDs, magazines, journals, posters, and even David-themed socks and T-shirts! There was also plenty of cake, biscuits, and chocolates to enjoy while browsing and chatting about one of the world’s most inspiring broadcasters and natural historians.

A special highlight was hearing about Rob Jackson meeting David Attenborough at a Manchester book signing back in 1985 and still owning signed copies of The Living Planet and Life on Earth — a reminder of the lasting impact Sir David has had across generations.

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough — and thank you for inspiring curiosity, exploration, and care for the natural world 🌿
