πŸ™Œ The most brilliant day for our annual PTFA Fundraising event - this year all in the aid of STEAM! The children completed related challenges including building cable cars and pulleys with Mr Smith, making boats, completing Miss Ford’s 1% Club, Art Attack and Mrs Moore’s LOGO challenge! β›΅οΈπŸš‘

As ever the water maze was the biggest attraction and the squeals of glee, shrieks of laughter and the children getting soaked on such a gloriously sunny day was the icing on the cake! πŸ€£πŸ’¦

πŸ’›πŸ’š Thank you to Mrs Moore for organising such a wonderful day - your hard work does not go unnoticed! Thanks to all of our families for your sponsorship and fundraising efforts - we look forward to updating everyone with a total soon! We hope you enjoy the snaps - more photos of each age group are on Tapestry. πŸ“ΈπŸ’šπŸ’›

β˜€οΈ We enjoyed a sunny EYFS afternoon in our garden learning about garden creatures and exploring different resources. β˜€οΈ

We made some hedgehogs using cocktail sticks and potatoes, the children used their fine motor skills to break the sticks and spike the potatoes with them to give our hedgehogs their prickles. πŸ¦”

Made the hedgehog prickles using spaghetti brushes, and some great creations on play dough. 🫟🎨

The children also used their super Maths skills to make biscuit beetles and used playdough to explore garden mini-beasts! πŸͺ²πŸ›

We had a busy and fun day! 🌞

πŸ… This term, Prep 3 have been exploring their Art project, Playful Making. Their task was to design and create a handmade, unique, and imaginative medal to be worn in celebration of creativity. πŸ…

As part of the project, they explored a variety of real medals, from World War medals to sporting medals and discussed their purpose, design, and symbolism. The children then designed their own medals, complete with labelled sketches and lists of materials needed to bring their ideas to life. 🫟🎨

πŸ’›πŸ’š Through this hands-on project, the children developed their creativity, problem-solving skills and confidence in making. πŸ’šπŸ’›

Look how proud they all are of their wonderful medals! πŸŽ–οΈ

This week the Prep 7&8 children finished their History topic of β€˜The Kingdom of Benin’ by exploring animal symbolism in Art. πŸ™Œ

They looked at all of the key animals featured in traditional Nigerian art and recreated their own tiles using air-dry clay and various tools. πŸ†πŸ

Their fabulous designs are currently drying overnight; they will be completing some written work to accompany them later this week. πŸ“

The children worked incredibly hard on the tricky Maths challenges - pushing far ahead into High School level maths - and they won two out of eight rounds against 5 other Prep School teams. βž—βœ–οΈβž•βž–
