Today is census day.

This means that our school’s funding is based on the number of pupils who attend school today.

If children aren’t in school today, our school is given less money in its budget… meaning we have less to spend on resources, visits and staff etc.

Let’s aim for 100% attendance today, to make sure our children have the very best.

A huge thank you to Wing Yip for their generous support of our Year 5 food and culture project! 🌏🥢

This morning, James kindly dropped off a fantastic selection of Asian snacks to Mr Shallcross and his pupils to sample, along with beautiful Chinese decorations to help enhance the experience for our children.

As part of their learning this term, Year 5 pupils will be exploring a range of Asian foods and flavours through tasting activities before taking part in practical cooking sessions next half term, where they will be making vegetable stir-fries at MCA Secondary School.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and kindness shown in helping us bring learning to life and create memorable experiences for our pupils. 💛

On Wednesday, the Urban Crew visited St Mary's Care Home in Moston! ☀️

They played games including beanbag toss, basketball and target ring toss with the residents. The Urban Crew were very well behaved and the residents loved their visit.

To end the visit they sang Roar by Katy Perry which everyone really enjoyed! 🎤

Good morning, Year 6!

This week is SATs week. You can join us from 8am for a lovely breakfast, a bit of relaxation and last minute revision. Please don’t be any later than 8:30.

This week’s tests will be over in a flash, so make sure that you do your very best and answer as many questions as possible. Remember, don’t get stuck, get marks. If a question really slows you down or stresses you out, skip it and come back to it later.

These tests are a great way of finding out how much you remember. But they’re not a test of who you are, nor do they test how good a person you are. That’s where our community qualities come in; the tests are a chance to show them - your attitude, behaviour, courage, determination, enthusiasm, friendship and grit. These things form your character and are way more important than any exam score.

So, big breath, you’ve got this, and we’ve got you.

Mr Reed.

Good luck to all our amazing Year 6 children as SATs week begins tomorrow! 🌟

You have worked incredibly hard, shown resilience, determination and growth all year long and we are so proud of each and every one of you already.

Remember, these tests are simply a chance to show what you know.

Get a good night’s sleep, believe in yourselves and try your very best.

You’ve got this Year 6! 💪✨
