Another year of GCSE English is over and after two years with no exams, it’s been hard for teachers and students too. However, I for one, am glad to have the exams back but that doesn’t mean these last few weeks haven’t been incredibly stressful. I’ve had some wonderful private students this year, each with their own strengths, and it’s bitter sweet now that they’ve sat the exams and don’t need my help anymore. I am sending positive thoughts for results day (25/8) and hope to hear some fantastic news from all of them that day. Schools are now refocusing their attention on Year 10 students who will progress to Year 11 in September and although I’m looking forward to a well-earned break, I’m always here if anyone is looking for a private tutor in English. I also offer support to university students: essay planning, referencing, proofreading etc. Feel free to get in touch!

The November GCSE English exams take place next week so if you’d like some last minute exam support, please get in touch.
I also offer academic support for university and college students. This may be helping you with correct referencing, preparing presentations, research, academic writing, proofreading, comprehending tutor instructions/essay guidance, or creating a skeleton structure. Let me help you improve your skills so that you can achieve the grades you deserve.
Not long until the new academic year commences. Please get in touch if you are looking for a personal tutor to help you achieve your very best in your English studies.
I know some of you may be anxious about the GCSE results being released on Thursday but just remember, whatever grade you receive, you gained this based on your achievement so far up until lockdown. That may mean that you have been predicted to achieve a Grade 4+ or it may mean that you haven't quite managed a 'good' pass. Remember, you have been passed around from pillar to post, receiving conflicting information left, right and centre; you have had all of this while surviving a pandemic so, whatever happens, you should be proud. Good luck to everyone!

Now that lockdown restrictions are easing and most schools are planning to reopen in September, you or your children may be worried about falling behind, particularly if you’re due to take GCSE exams next year.
If you think you would benefit from a private tutor of English, please get in touch. Tutoring sessions are available either face-to-face (social distancing rules observed) or online (using Zoom).
During the current pandemic, many parents are suddenly having to homeschool their kids and may be finding this difficult due to myriad issues such as time; lack of knowledge;other caring responsibilities; working from home etc.
If you have any general questions about English and just need a quick helping hand, I'm always here but if you think you or your children would benefit from some online tutoring 1-1 via Zoom, I have reduced my hourly rate for this very purpose.
Please get in touch if you would like to know more..

I am patient, kind, fair but firm and have experience of teaching children and adults from a variety of backgrounds with myriad barriers to learning.
If you (or someone you know) just needs a guiding hand to enable them to achieve their full potential in English, please get in touch. My rates are competitive.
