Investigating the IN prefix - another prefix that makes opposites. It changes when the root word begins with L, R, M or B to IL, IR or IM. This is why immature and illegible have double letters at the start 🤯 English is a weird and wonderful language!

Our older students have been learning about prefixes to support their spelling skills. Morphology is a great way to understand how words can be built up 😊We have had a few opinions about whether certain words actually exist!
