🌟 Longsight Nursery Refurbishment Update 🌟

As many of you know, we’ve been busy giving our Longsight nursery a well-deserved refresh! The nursery is approaching 10 years old, and our reception area and hallways were ready for a new lease of life.

We understand that maintenance work can sometimes be disruptive, so we’ve carefully planned the project during a quieter period and have worked hard to minimise any impact on the children. Throughout the refurbishment, children have remained in separate areas of the building and have followed a dedicated pathway for arrivals and departures to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable.

We’re incredibly excited about the improvements and can’t wait to share the finished result with you. In the meantime, take a look at some of the inspiration behind the new look and feel of these spaces! AI mock ups to show our amazing inspo.

🐢🐢World Turtle day 🐢🐢

In celebration of World Turtle Day …

Our little turtles are deep diving this morning exploring !! 🌊 💦

For World Turtle Day, the children enjoyed a range of hands-on activities inspired by turtles and the ocean.

They explored splashing water play, sensory trays, and turtle-themed colouring activities to encourage creativity and curiosity.

The children used mark making tools to create patterns, lines, and turtle pictures while developing early writing skills.

Fine motor skills were supported through activities such as scooping, pouring, grasping, and manipulating different materials.

Sensory exploration allowed the children to investigate textures, colours, and sounds in a fun and engaging environment while promoting communication, imagination, and confidence in play.

When life gives you lemons …make lemonade 🍋 🍋

This morning our toddlers created their own lemonade.

The Children scooped ingredients, squeezed lemons, mixed water and juice together to create their own creations.

They explore textures, smells, and tastes while developing fine motor control and hand strength.

(Physical Development)
Developing hand strength through squeezing lemons
Improving coordination through pouring and scooping.

(Communication and Language)
Learning new words such as “sour,” “juice,” “mix,” and “pour”
Talking about taste, smell, and texture.
