Happy 2 year Anniversary Abbie!

Thank you for all that you do and the skills and expertise you impart in our Preschool. The children and staff think the world of you and we are very lucky to have you! 😇

This week in the under 2's room, we've been focusing on using our senses to support our language development.
We enjoyed the "See, touch and feel" book and made our own rainbow handprints, which tickled quite a lot. During this activity, we used many single words to express ourselves.
We've also been having fun with our jungle tabletop activity while listening and joining in with "Down in the jungle". We imitated different animal sounds and even created our own words to help expand our vocabulary skills together.

The children in Little Chucklers have enjoyed participating in various mark-making activities. They have independently selected their resources, allowing them to create different marks and discuss their creations.
Additionally, the children have engaged in activities that have strengthened their muscles and enhanced their fine motor skills.

This week in the baby room, we have been exploring how rhymes enhance the children's communication and language skills.
We arranged trays with a variety of instruments, enabling them to interact with the rhymes in a fun and engaging manner.
The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in the singing, incorporating their own actions and experimenting with the musical instruments.

Our weekly shout out this week goes to Sophia!

Sophia is already gaining in confidence in the room and has been great with the children. On arriving this morning we noticed the room had been set up intentionally in all areas and looked fabulous.

Well done, Sophia, keep it up!

Last week, we had a great day out at the local park, where the children enjoyed exploring the play equipment, particularly the swings and climbing frames.
We brought along a football, tennis rackets, and an aeroplane. The children had lots of fun while playing football against the wall and challenging the practitioners to tennis matches. They also had a fantastic time seeing how far they could throw the aeroplane and if they could make it loop in the air.
It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with friends and explore the outdoors!

Today, we had the chance to take Gary the snail out of his tank. We fed him some dandelions, and a few children even got to hold Gary. We talked about what we observed and noticed that Gary wasn't moving much, although he appeared to enjoy using his head and mouth to search for food. The children also shared their favourite foods and discussed which options would be good or bad for Gary to eat.

The children engaged in a creative activity using toy car wheels to design patterns, which helped to develop their expressive arts and design skills and their physical development. They had an amazing time pushing cars through paint and then rolling them onto paper to create patterns created by the wheels.
Additionally, they enjoyed exchanging both cars and colours with each other, noticing the variations this brought to their mark making.

Room of the month this month is going to our Little Gigglers Room!

This is for always engaging with the children and having brilliant activities. Lots of encouragement is given to both staff and children at all times by all members of staff in the room.
