Maths Tutor Martyn - Manchester

Maths Tutor Martyn - Manchester I am a private maths teacher, teaching GCSE and functional skills to young people (aged 13 and above I charge £25 per hour or £40 for 2 hours.

I’ve been providing private maths tuition and teaching in colleges and schools in the Manchester and Derbyshire area for the last 8 years. I currently focus almost entirely on private tuition as I find it extremely productive for the students who get so much more out of their one-to-one or small group work than they do in over-subscribed classes. I’ve enjoyed working with a whole range of students over the years, from those who struggle greatly with confidence and basic maths, to those who are look to inch up from a predicted A to an A*. I offer everything from individual sessions to full courses with exams. I’m very familiar with inclusive teaching methods for students who are dyslexic, dyscalculic or who for other reasons find the usual classroom methods leaving something to be desired. I specialise in confidence boosting for students of all levels through a friendly approach and a listening ear for each student’s unique approach. I’m a creative teacher and enjoy making resources and using modern technology if a student wishes for it. I work with students from 13 years of age upwards (including grandparents!). For example, I teach:

-school children.
-college students.
-adults returning to education.
-parents or grandparents who want to boost their own skills in order to teach their children and grandchildren. I'll also consider discounts for more than one student at a time (adults only). tel: 07850 955810

woohoo! Two of my private maths students started studying with me in September and took their GCSE resit in November.... one of them (who'd got a D in June) got a B this time around!!!!............... and the other one got the C she needed and we're all super-happy about it. They both worked really hard and really earned it and I'm so chuffed for them both :-) Well done you guys :-)

Just got a great testimonial from the mother of one of my private students...
"My 16 son has discalculia so has always struggled with any kind of number work throughout his school career . After a disappointing result in his GCSE maths exam it was hard to encourage him to engage with further learning in this topic area until finding Martyn his maths tutor. Since then It has been a pleasure to watch my son's confidence growing with respect to his number work particularly as he got 80% in a recent maths test . Martyn has embraced my child's particular difficulties and has tailored the learning to my child's interests making the maths tuition relevant, practical and therefore more easily understandable. My son attends every week and is clearly benefitting from Martyn's teaching."
Nearly brought a tear to my eye!
