Gardening Fun in the Norris Room! 🌿

Our preschool children enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted some wonderful herbs in the garden today! 🌱

Before planting, the children explored the different herbs using their senses, smelling the beautiful scents of lavender, sage, rosemary and lemon balm. They talked about how each one smelled and what made them different.

The children then helped to fill the planting area with compost, carefully made holes for each herb and gently placed the plants into their new homes. Finally, we discussed what our herbs would need to help them grow big and strong. The children knew exactly what to do next—give them a good watering! 💧

This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, developed fine motor skills and helped the children learn how to care for living things. We can't wait to watch our herb garden grow! 🌼🌿

🌱🥔 Our Moor Room children have loved watching their potato plants grow over the past few months!

After lots of care and patience, they were excited to harvest their delicious potatoes.

The children had great fun digging them out of the soil, washing them, and even enjoying them at snack time. What a wonderful way to learn about where our food comes from!

Well done, Moor Room – your potatoes look absolutely delicious!

What a fun-filled week we've had at The Heatons with our very own festival! 🌈

Our children had an amazing time taking part in a variety of exciting activities, including giant bubbles, balancing challenges, face painting, dancing, arts and crafts, and lots of laughter as they watched The Heatons' very own clown perform! 🤡✨

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, creativity, and confidence shining through as everyone joined in the fun. Thank you to all our fantastic staff for making it such a memorable week!

Yesterday we celebrated a very special milestone as some of our wonderful Norris room children graduated! 🎓✨

We have loved watching them all grow in confidence, curiosity and independence. From their very first days with us to today, they have filled our nursery with laughter, kindness, friendships and so many unforgettable memories.

We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and know they are more than ready for their next big adventure at school.

🌟 We wish you every success, happiness and excitement as you begin this wonderful new chapter. We will miss you all very much but you'll always be part of The Heaton's family. 💙

What an exciting morning our Norris room children had today! 🐍🦎🕷️
We were delighted to welcome Zoolab, who brought along some amazing animal visitors for the children to meet and learn about.
The children were fascinated as they discovered interesting facts about each creature and even had the opportunity to get up close to some of the animals!

Experiences like these help to spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage a love of learning about the natural world.

Today, we had our Food Hygiene Inspection from Stockport Council and we are delighted to say we maintained our 5* food hygiene rating!

Well done to our wonderful cook Surekha who spoke to the officer and demonstrated our high standards of food prep, allergy awareness and cleanliness of the kitchen.
