Honeybear Nursery - Whalley Range
Honeybear nursery first opened in 1989 by Bernadetta Devine, who after several years of working in nurseries herself wanted to provide high quality childcare.
Her aim was to set up a safe and secure environment for children to grow and learn. Honeybear Nursery is situated on a quiet street in the heart of Whalley Range, close to Princess Parkway motorway links and Manchester City centre. The location of the nursery makes it convenient for those travelling to work and those that live in the surrounding area. We offer both full and part time day care for
⭐️Baby Room Impact - November 25’
We have seen huge progress with the babies communication and language skills.
We have seen children learn each other’s names some pointing when the name is said others using during play.
Naming objects that are familiar too them, repeating lots of sounds and single words.
The children have found a love for both animals and cars, using sounds during play without being prompted.
We have done lots of work around naming body parts, using pictures, mirrors, books and songs during everyday routines and this has had a huge impact. Even creating wonderful one to one interactions where the children enjoy touching faces, beeping noses and giggling together.

Tuesday-This morning we focused on trains as this week we are focusing on transportation the children enjoyed doing mark making with the trains and exploring the train track activity we also sang the ‘Good morning train is coming’ whilst we was setting up the activity.
Wednesday-This morning the children took part in a turn taking activity where they practiced rolling balls down the ramp.
Thursday-This morning we did a mark-making activity where we attached crayons to the backs of toy cars, and the children really enjoyed pushing the cars across the paper to create colourful tracks and patterns.
Friday-Today’s learning centred around construction vehicles such as diggers and dump trucks. The children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm while exploring the construction-themed tuff tray. They enjoyed using their imagination to create small building sites and developed their fine-motor skills as they scooped, poured, and transported different materials.
Monday-Today we have been looking at different modes of transportation playing a little game to recognise and name them. We talked about what each one does, who uses them and why. We have also had the ramp out again to practice rolling things down.

Reading isn’t just words on a page - it’s an adventure! 📚
At our nursery, we bring stories to life with role-play, puppets, and props so children can immerse themselves in the tale. This approach develops imagination, communication skills, and a lifelong love of reading.

⭐️Baby Room Implementation Week beginning - 17/11/25
Monday-Due to the interest around farm animals and the sounds they make we extended learning by introducing jungle animals. We created a tray they can access through the week where we name the animals as they are discovered naturally in play.
Tuesday- Today we added more of a range of jungle animals, with hard bodies. The children did lots of loud ‘roars’ and giggled when it scared us, again this was added firstly in the basket which enticed the children to collect them and line them up on the home corner. Later we put them in categories to see if they noticed, again mostly they were drawn to the animals that ‘roar’.
Wednesday-Safari ball pool and Dinosaur foot printing.
Thursday- Purple themed sensory play for prematurity awareness month
Friday-Gluing and sticking, building blocks and sensory tiles.
