Around the corner from Sweny's Chemists, immortalized in James Joyce's Ulysses, is Number 5 Merrion Street Lower, a 3-storey Georgian house and the home of Berltiz Language Centre, Dublin. Well, between 1905 and 1914, Joyce taught English at the Berlitz schools in Trieste, which was then an Austrian city, but is now in Italy, and P**a, which was also part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but is now the fifth largest city in Croatia. In the same year, the company decided to mark its 130th birthday by relocating to the City Centre. Going further back in time, Berlitz occupied several homes from Grafton Street to Lower Leeson Street. Berlitz opened his first school in Providence, Rhode Island, and introduced the revolutionary Berlitz Method®. This effective, conversational approach has remained the core of the company's language instruction ever since. Combined with the latest multimedia materials and contemporary content, Berlitz language instruction teaches you the real life language of the country and not some 'textbook' version. Learning is twice as easy in the warm and friendly atmosphere at our language centre. Our highly qualified international team and the successful Berlitz Method® will make sure of that. We offer a comprehensive range of individual and group courses to suit all needs. Comments and other content posted by you on this fan page may be removed by the administrator if it:
