🚂🚀 FUNTASIA KIDS CLUB – TRIP DAY! 🚀🚂
What an AMAZING day we’ve had today! ☀️🥵❤️
Today was trip day, and we headed off to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester! 🚌🚂 We started our adventure by catching the bus to the train station before jumping on another bus to the museum. It was a VERY hot day, and by the end we were all rather sweaty 😂🥵, but that certainly didn’t stop us having the best time!

There was SO much to see and do throughout the day! 👀✨

🚂 TRAINS, ENGINES & ROCKETS! 🚀
We got to see some incredible trains and huge engines, as well as learning all about rockets and how they work. The children were fascinated by all the different things they could see!

🚀 ROCKET SHOW! 🎈
One of the highlights was watching a little rocket show, where we even got to see a rocket experiment being demonstrated! And the best part… it was an experiment very similar to the balloon rocket experiment we did at Funtasia yesterday! 🎈🚀 The children were so excited to recognise what they had already learned and see it being demonstrated at the museum! 🤩

🪄 THE ILLUSIONS AREA! 👀
This was definitely a favourite with the children! 😂❤️ There were so many amazing things to explore and experiment with.
We found areas where you could look down and it appeared as though there was a huge drop underneath you 😱, experimented with air flow and levitating balls ⚪✨, and even had a go at the X-ray area, where you could see someone standing on the other side! 🩻
There were also areas where the children could touch, feel and smell different things 👃🏼🖐🏼, musical pipes that they could play 🎶, and even an earthquake simulation! 🌎😱
The children absolutely LOVED this! They could spin the area around and watch as the shaking caused the little brick buildings to fall down. 🧱😂 It was definitely one of those things they wanted to have another go at!

🧵 TEXTILES & WEAVING 🧵
We also explored the textiles area, where the children got to have a go at weaving fabric themselves. They loved being able to get hands-on and see how fabric can be made! 🧶✨
🚀 CREATIVE ROCKETS! 🚀
Most of the children also created their very own rocket pictures and proudly put them up on the wall! 🎨🚀 It was lovely seeing all their different designs together.
And of course… we couldn’t leave without having a go on the cotton swirly chairs! 😂🌀 The children (and probably some of us adults too!) had great fun spinning around!
It has been such a brilliant day filled with science, experiments, history, exploring, creativity and lots of laughter. ❤️

A HUGE well done to all of the children for being so fantastic throughout the day, especially with all the travelling and walking in the heat! ☀️🥵👏🏼 You’ve all been absolute superstars! ⭐️

Now it’s time for us all to cool down and put our feet up after a very busy day! 😂❤️

My daughter comes to your summer camp every year, and every single time she is made to feel so welcome and cared for. The warmth and affection you all show her is incredible. You make her feel so special, and she settles in straight away as though she's been attending all year round.

As a parent, it's such a reassuring feeling to drop your child off at a holiday club knowing they will be safe, well looked after, and genuinely cared for. It really feels as though every member of your team treats the children as if they were their own.
The organisation that goes into each day is amazing. There's a clear structure, so much thought put into planning the activities, and I love that each week has a different theme to keep things exciting and engaging.
My daughter absolutely loves coming to summer camp, and I love bringing her. Thank you to every member of your team for the care, kindness, dedication, and love you pour into the children every day. It never goes unnoticed, and I truly appreciate everything you do.

I honestly wouldn't send her anywhere else.

Holiday Club -
🧪 Science Week – Wednesday’s Adventures! 🌳
What a fun-filled Wednesday we’ve had at Holiday Club! ☀️
We kicked off the day by heading off to Cheetam’s Park, armed with our packed lunches, plenty of water and lots of energy! The children had a fantastic time playing on the park, digging in the sand and enjoying some outdoor adventures.
We then had a little mooch along the nature trail, following the stepping stones and completing the challenges along the way. After all that exploring, we found a lovely shady spot on the grass and settled down for a well-earned picnic lunch. 🥪🌿
After lunch, we continued our adventure by walking through the back of Cheetam’s Park, giving the children plenty of opportunities to explore before making our way back to club.
This afternoon, it was time to get SCIENCE-Y! 🧪💥
First up was our homemade fizzy lemonade! 🍋🥤 It took us two attempts to get the recipe just right, and there were certainly a few sticky hands along the way! The children loved watching the acid-base reaction create all those lovely fizzy bubbles. After a little scientific experimenting (and a few tweaks!), we cracked it — and everyone enjoyed the final result!
Next came our Exploding Sidewalk Art! 🎨💣 We mixed cornflour, food colouring and vinegar before adding our baking soda bombs and waiting for the magic to happen. Our bags turned out to be a little too big for the explosion we had planned, but that didn’t stop the fun! The children loved watching the baking soda react with the mixture inside the bags — and things got even more exciting when we took them outside and jumped on them! 💥😂
Another brilliant day of exploring, experimenting, getting messy and having lots of fun
⭐ Star of the day today is Finlay, what a superstar he has been all day, helpful, our star tidier and the most enthusiastic member today ⭐

🧪🔬 HOLIDAY CLUB – SCIENCE WEEK! 🔬🧪
✨ DAY TWO ✨
What another exciting. day of science we’ve had 🧪
We started our morning with lots of fun science experiments! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬 The children loved creating their very own experiments and, of course, getting to wear their science lab coats made it even more exciting! 🥼🧪 They couldn’t wait to see what reactions would happen with each experiment! 🤩

💦✏️ The Pencil & Water Experiment ✏️💦
Next up was the famous bag and pencil experiment! The children were completely in awe of how it worked! 😮 They took turns carefully adding pencils to the water-filled bag and then pulling them back out to see why the water didn’t escape straight away.
Kelsey explained that the stretchy material of the bag basically hugs the pencil, creating a seal around it and stopping the water from escaping! 💧✏️🔬

☀️ After all that experimenting, we headed outside to enjoy some sunshine and have our lunches. 🥪🌳

🫧 Cornflour Slime! 🫧
After lunch, things got a little… MESSY! 😂🙈
The children had so much fun creating their very own cornflour slime. They couldn’t believe how it could start off as a liquid but then become hard when pressure was applied! 😮🫧 We talked about why we thought this happened, and the children thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck in, getting messy and having lots of fun! 🤭

🌸💧 Colour-Changing Flowers 💧🌸
We then moved onto our beautiful carnation experiment! 🌷🌈 Using water and food colouring, we investigated how flowers drink up water through their stems, causing the petals to gradually change colour.
The children shared their ideas about why this happens and agreed that it was because the flowers “drink” the water! 🌸💧
We had a few flowers left over, so we decided to get creative and dip our own flowers into the coloured dye! 🌈🌺 Everyone who wanted to got to make a lovely colourful flower to take home. 🥰

🌪️ Tornadoes in a Bottle! 🌪️
Our final scientific activity of the day was all about tornadoes! 🌪️ We started by using worksheets to learn about what tornadoes are and what they do. 📝🌪️ We even had a little competition, with a small treat for our winner! 🍬🏆
Anthony then helped the children create their very own tornado in a bottle using water, washing-up liquid and glitter! ✨🫧🌪️ The children loved watching the glitter swirl around and seeing how it created the tornado effect inside the bottle. 🤩
⚽☀️ Time to Play! ☀️⚽
We finished our day by heading back outside once it had cooled down a little. 🌳😎
Anthony had lots of fun playing a cone game with the children, where they had to try and steal his cone while he tried to steal theirs! 😂🔶 It certainly got everyone running around!
Other children enjoyed playing football ⚽, catch 🥎 and lots of other outdoor games with their friends. ❤️

We’ve had so much fun exploring, experimenting, learning and, of course, getting a little messy along the way! 😂🙈
We can’t wait for more scientific experiments tomorrow… and our walk too! 🚶‍♀️🌳🔬
☀️ REMINDER: It’s looking like tomorrow is going to be another hot one, so please don’t forget to put suncream on your children before they come in. 🧴☀️ We’ll be making sure they stay hydrated and get plenty of shade and breaks throughout the day too. 💦😊

🚀🔬 SCIENCE WEEK – WEEK 3, MONDAY! 🧪🎨
What an AMAZING start to our science week! 🤩 We jumped straight into a day full of experiments, challenges, teamwork and lots of fun!
🎨 Sugar Painting
We started the day with some super colourful sugar painting using food dyes! 🌈 The children absolutely loved getting creative and watching the colours mix and spread. It was definitely a very popular activity! 👩‍🔬✨
🥤💥 Fizzing Coke Experiment
Next up was our fizzing Coke experiment! The children were fascinated as they watched the reaction happen right before their eyes. There were lots of excited faces and plenty of predictions about what might happen! 😲🧪
🥚🚀 The Great Egg Challenge!
After some outdoor play, it was time for a BIG challenge… could we protect an egg from a drop? 🥚⬇️
Working in teams, the children designed and created their very own protective cases. They worked together, shared ideas and made predictions about whose egg would survive the drop. It was SO much fun watching the excitement build as we dropped them from a height! 🙌
🏆 A HUGE WELL DONE to Thomas and Ronnie! 🎉
Their egg survived INTACT! 🥚👏 What a fantastic team effort!
🎈🚀 Rocket Balloons!
We then blasted off with our rocket balloon challenge! 🚀🎈 The children loved blowing their balloons along the string and watching them zoom across the room. There were plenty of giggles and lots of “AGAIN!” 😆
⚽🏃‍♀️ Outdoor Fun!
We finished our action-packed day with plenty of fresh air and outdoor play, including skipping, football and lots of running around! ⚽🏃‍♂️🌳
What a fantastic Monday! 🌟 We’ve already had SO much fun with science week and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

🏈📣 Holiday Club – Week 2, Friday! 📣🏈
And just like that… our Sports Week has come to an end! 🎉
What a fun-filled final day we’ve had! We started the morning by getting creative and making our very own megaphones 📣 using paper cups. The children decorated them, cut out the bases and then had great fun shouting through them — thankfully, we survived the noise! 😂
Then it was time to put our baking skills to the test with our American Football Piñata Brownies 🏈🍫… well, that was the plan anyway! 😆 Things didn’t quite go as expected when we discovered that scooping out the brownies to add the hidden sweets was MUCH trickier than it looked. The brownies had other ideas and definitely didn’t want to stay in one piece! 🤣
We did manage to create a couple of successful piñata brownies before deciding the best solution was to slice the rest up and share them with everyone. And judging by the happy faces, we’re pretty sure they were still very yummy! 🍫😋
⭐ STAR OF THE DAY – HUNTER! ⭐
A huge well done to Hunter, our final Star of the Day! 🌟 What a brilliant way to finish off Sports Week!
This afternoon, the children made the most of the sunshine and headed outside for some more fun. They worked together to create their very own obstacle course 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️, before having a go at creating skateboards using lolly sticks and beads we also made apple cars that looked fantastic 🛹🍎. There was plenty of laughter all day long !
And that’s a wrap on Sports Week! 🏆🎉
What an action-packed week it’s been, from games and challenges to baking, creativity and lots of outdoor fun. We’ve had an absolute ball! ⚽🏀🏈

**🌟 Holiday Club – Week 2, Day 4 🌟**
**🚌 Trip Day! 🚌**

What an AMAZING adventure we've had today! 🤩 We left club at 9am and headed off to Glossop for a fun-filled day out! 🚌💨 We thought we might get caught in the rain 🌧️, but luckily it only rained while we were on the bus... by the time we arrived, the sunshine was waiting for us! ☀️🙌

Our first stop was Manor Park, where everyone had the BEST time! 🛝💚 The children loved exploring the climbing frames, racing down the slides, swinging high, and burning off lots of energy! 😄 Some of our older children even had a go on the outdoor gym equipment 💪 with Karen leading the workout! 😂😂 Safe to say the staff had just as much fun as the children on the playground too! 🤭🤣

After all that excitement, it was definitely time for some lunch! 🍽️ We headed over to Empire in Glossop, where everyone tucked into delicious sausages, chicken strips, and yummy homemade chips! 🌭🍗🍟 And of course... the ice cream was a HUGE hit! 🍦😍

The fun didn't stop there though! 🎤🎶 We enjoyed lots of dancing, karaoke, treasure hunts, hide and seek, colouring, and plenty of board games too! 🕺🎨🧩 Everyone was smiling from start to finish! 💛 One of our children even turned to us and said, “This is the best day ever!"🥹❤️ He couldn't stop telling us how much fun he was having, and hearing that truly made our day. Moments like that are exactly what Holiday Club is all about! 🌟

We also took a little trip to Martin's Bakery 🥐🧁, where the children spent the pennies their parents had kindly given them. It was so lovely to see them choosing treats to take home - some picked gingerbread men, others chose cakes, and some even bought something special for their family members. 🥹❤️ Such a thoughtful bunch!

To finish off our fantastic day, everyone joined in with a huge game of the Hokey Cokey! 🎶😂 There were so many giggles, especially when we all had to squeeze inside the circle together! 🤣💃

A HUGE thank you to Empire Glossop for hosting us again - both this trip and our last one. We've had the most amazing time! 💙 We'd also like to say a big thank you to the fantastic DJ 🎧 for keeping the party going and making it so much fun for all the children! 🥳 And finally, thank you to all the lovely staff at Martin's Bakery for being so kind and welcoming to everyone. ☺️💛
