Brighter Beginnings We are a family of educational day nurseries based in Manchester.

The first Brighter Beginnings Nursery was established in New Moston in 1991 by Gill Race, who was an outstanding and inspirational head teacher. In 2006, Gill Race became one of the Government’s first National School Leaders helping schools in difficulties. After more than 20 years as a head teacher she left education to concentrate on our developing partnership with Sure Start, providing high qua

lity care and education for the children of Manchester. At Brighter Beginnings we have worked hard to bring nurseries to those areas in the city where it was difficult to find good quality provision. Before opening our Sure Start purpose built centres, there was insufficient child care for working parents and not enough places for children entitled to free pre school education through Government funding. Over the past five years we have developed our training school in partnership with Skills@Oldham, enabling us to train our own staff. Young people come to us for their first apprenticeship and go on through the advanced levels continuously building on their skills and professionalism. In this way we have been able to develop an established team of loyal and dedicated staff with a commitment to, and understanding of, our aims and philosophy.

A gentle reminder that funded childcare may help with the cost of Baby House. 💚✨

Some families in England are eligible for funded hours from the term after their baby turns 9 months old, which could make a real difference to the cost of specialist baby care in Manchester and Oldham. 🌿

At Baby House, we accept funded hours for all eligible children. Eligibility depends on government criteria. 💛

We are SO excited to officially open the doors to our brand-new Baby House on the 1st September ! 🏡🤍

We can’t wait for you all to see the beautiful, calming environment we have created especially for our youngest children, aged 0–28 months. 🌿

Our Baby House has three dedicated playrooms, each of which has been completely transformed with babies at the heart of every decision. From cosy, nurturing spaces to carefully planned opportunities for exploring, playing and learning, we’ve worked so hard to create a real home-from-home. 🧸✨

Every little detail has been thoughtfully chosen to make our babies feel safe, settled, loved and ready to explore. 🤎

We are so proud of the transformation and cannot wait to welcome our babies and families through the doors!
